Technical Course Designer
The Amicus Summer Internship Program gives students an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a corporate environment, receive mentoring from highly skilled professionals and work on dynamic team projects. The intern will be assigned roles and responsibilities that will support the strategic business plan of the team.
This is a full-time (40 hours per week) paid internship that will run from May 20, 2019 until August 16, 2019. Internships will be based out of our Cranbury and Princeton, NJ locations. For best consideration, candidates should apply by no later than March 15, 2019.
Summary of Position
Amicus Therapeutics is a global, patient-dedicated biotechnology company focused on discovering, developing and delivering high-quality medicines for people living with rare metabolic diseases.
The Technical Course Developer will work with the Information Technology team to design materials and electronic training courses for employee facing applications managed by IT. We are looking for a creative individual who is familiar with web-based training.
Roles and Responsibilities
The Technical Course Designer is responsible for:
Develop and update training content, quick reference guides, and other training resources.
Storyboard content and produce scripts, as required
Create engaging training course content (videos, quizzes and activities).
Organize physical and digital resources for instructors and trainees.
Provide manuals and guidelines on how to use online training material.
Examples of content include BlueJeans Video Conferencing: Scheduling, Launching and Moderating meetings, How to use conference rooms, etc.
Produce interactive deliverable content (animations and videos)
Work with IT team to plan, write and edit technical documentation and manuals that explain complex information and a clear and concise manner

Duties may be modified or assigned at any time to meet the needs of the business.
Pursuing a degree in Instructional design, Educational Technology or relevant field preferred
Experience developing e-learning programs, web-based training is preferred.
Knowledge and understanding of video production and editing programs preferred
Keen attention to detail and high level of accountability, self-starter
Familiarity with video editing software.
Familiarity with authoring tools such as Captivate or Storyline.
Ability to write clear instructional copy.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
Must be able to work individually and within a team environment
Extremely detail oriented
