Our client is seeing a Tech Writer / Communication Specialist who would author, edit, and create several communication materials for a project that involves implementing several modules of ServiceNow software, including Incident, Problem, Change, Request Fulfillment, CMDB and custom solutions.
This individual will work closely with members of Service Management Organization and software development team to create comprehensive user interface content and product guides.
The individual will need to identify the nature / type / audience / content delivery format to present most relevant and effective information to consumers.
The position entails several elements of project management, including defining and adhering to a schedule with deliverables and ability to work independently.
Work with internal teams to obtain an in-depth understanding of the enterprise software product and documentation requirements
Researches and builds knowledge about the products, services, technology or concepts to be documented
Determines the most effective content format and delivery vehicle to present information for greatest reader comprehension given different levels of audience.
Plan, develop, organize, and edit procedures and manuals for technical product
Produce easy-to-understand user interface text, online help and developer guides
Produce high-quality content, including graphical illustrations when necessary
Analyze existing and potential content, focusing on reuse and single-sourcing opportunities
Experience working on a large, fast-paced project with interdependent tracks of work happening simultaneously
Ability to quickly review the projects history, previously created artifacts and deliverables to come up to speed on current status.
Proven experience working in technical writing and communication position
Ability to deliver high quality documentation with attention to details
Ability to write in explanatory and procedural styles for multiple persona
Ability to quickly grasp complex technical concepts and make them easily understandable in text and illustration
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong working knowledge of graphical workflow tools (MS Visio, OmniGraffle)
Working knowledge of editing illustrations and graphs; ability to produce vector files.
Basic familiarity with software development and SDLC processes.
Experience with the ServiceNow software suite is a plus
Experience with ITIL Service Management processes is a plus
EDUCATION / CERTIFICATION
Bachelors degree required
Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in technical writing and communication roles.
