What does a great Technical Consultant, Advisory do?

  • The main responsibility of the Technical Consultant, Advisory associate is to assume the divisional role of an in-house subject matter expert in terms of providing advanced level knowledge of color management. It is expected that this individual will analyze the current state of color consistency enterprise-wide based on print platform variables / production environment.

  • Develop the processes for standardizing the creation of composition image resources, and the detailed processes for color consistency for on-boarding new customers.

  • Work with Ops/Implementations to determine the color issues and develop an effective color solution.

  • Interface with all printer technology vendors to understand and address any potential performance and color fidelity issue that may occur when moving between print technologies platforms.

  • Introduce an advanced color quality control methodology based on controlling color to industry standards and extend color quality control process (training) enterprise-wide.

  • Establish an enterprise-wide engagement process to introduce and integrate new color assets (i.e., Houston printer refresh).

Basic Qualifications for Consideration:

  • 15 years plus of color management experience in offset printing, digital printing, and data center print production

  • A successful candidate needs to demonstrate considerable industry exposure, possess a broad familiarity of technical color and inkjet production systems and solutions

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate technical print specifications to internal sales and sales support teams as well as strategic suppliers

Preferred Skills, Experience, and Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering

  • Experience working in the production print environment in the development and implementation of print solutions for clients

  • Certification in in document imaging

Physical Requirements:

Job required incumbent to be mobile and in a standing/walking position with the ability to lift up to 20 lbs. regularly. Uses hands to handle, finger or feel objects and to perform keyboarding. Also uses hands and arms to reach and grab objects. Occasionally climbs stretches, crouches and kneels. Successful performance requires good vision including close vision.

Travel required:
10-20% travel with possible extended periods of time on occasion
