Overview

The role of the Technical Consultant (TC) is responsible for designing, implementing and delivering technical projects that meet the requirements set by customers. To accomplish this the TC will collaborate with customers, partners and stakeholders-both internal and external-to understand requirements and deliver the desired workflows and functionality. Additionally, the TC can function as a consultant to the implementation team or as a project lead. This individual has a broad knowledge of technical terms and is comfortable communicating with senior level business and technical customer contacts.

Responsibilities

  • Lead discovery meetings with key customer stakeholders to determine functional requirements for the implementation of their software solution and data integrations

  • Compose a written report documenting requirements for building the process solution with minimal oversight

  • Present documentation on solution requirements to key customer stakeholders for validation and approval

  • Design creative solutions using a wide breadth of software modules and applying best practice knowledge

  • Implement technical solution based on the documented requirements; implementation could involve standard integrations, pre-packaged solutions, or custom integrations

  • Conduct technical training of customer users and of customer appointed software system administrators

  • Support customer testing initiatives; troubleshoot and resolve operational issues

  • Migrate solution into production environment; support customer throughout "golive" process

  • Transition key information to Support team and other internal stakeholders to ensure continued successful support of customer

  • Understand the technical intricacies of software functionality and successfully apply that understanding when developing requirements

  • Identify and document best practices and challenges with configuring software solutions

  • Provide guidance to other Technical Consultants

  • Track contractual obligations and billing related items

  • Effectively respond to RFIs/RFPs

  • Provide feedback to product group on customer requests and technical challenges/improvements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in related field, such as Management Information Systems or Computer Science

  • Minimum 3 years' experience working with web application integrations (SaaS)

  • Significant experience with configuring, designing and deploying software in the context of a project

  • Strong desire to assist customers with technical expertise

  • Solid understanding of technical concepts such as database, web applications, data storage and security

  • Proficient working with and explaining software functionality and various integration technologies

  • Experience in turning customer workflows into technical requirements

  • Speak or write with ease, clarity and impact, using a communication style appropriate to the subject and the audience

  • Able to thrive in a fast paced, deadline driven environment

  • Selfmotivated with the ability to complete projects in a timely manner

  • Critical thinker with excellent problem solving skills

  • Interpersonal communication with strong listening skills

  • Excellent presentation skills

  • Previous experience with data imports, data feeds, and APIs a must.

  • Travel, as necessary, to customer locations (typically less than 5%).

  • Or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the principal duties of the job
