Postman is one of the largest developer platforms in the world with 7+ million users on our API development platform. Growing from a side-project in 2012, Postman today is the standard for API tools across every company and development team.

We believe that building a strong community and investing in their success is essential to our own success as a company. We are looking for an experienced community manager to join our Developer Relations team.

In this role, you'll work closely and collaboratively within the Developer Relations team to plan, manage, and execute community-first programs and engagement plans to support various new product launches, events, and social impact activities.

Strong preference will be given to candidates based in the Bay Area and other major tech centers.


  • Build trust and motivate interaction with Postman channels through engagement programs.

  • Facilitate community growth by supporting community-driven events like meetups, hackathons, webinars, and campaigns.

  • Coordinate content with social media and marketing team, also monitor and contribute to discussions in online and social media platforms.

  • Build and maintain relationships with community members who run user groups worldwide by supporting the Postman ambassadorship program, specifically with communications and administration

  • Measure, monitor, and build detailed reports on community sentiment and community concerns surrounding our products.

  • Represent the company online and at events.

  • Strong familiarity and knowledge of the Postman brand, its products, and its community, as well as developer communities.

  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills with the proven ability to communicate effectively at all levels internally and externally and across diverse geographies and leveraging remote teaming technologies.

  • Demonstrated experience in online community building, forum operations, and social media platforms (Twitter, Reddit, YouTube, LinkedIn, Facebook, etc.) and how they can be used to achieve business goals.

  • Experience making data-driven decisions.

  • Experience managing projects or accounts.

  • Experience working within strict brand and legal guidelines.

  • One year of programming experience, or a willingness and aptitude for learning technology.

  • Able to work long hours and weekends when needed.

  • Able to travel, including international.

The Technical Project Manager is a very hands-on technical position with high visibility and large levels of cross functional responsibility. As a PM, you should demonstrate superior interpersonal skills, conflict resolution, and negotiation skills. You'll ensure open communication across project teams. You will handle broad-based, often complex, communication for internal and/or external audiences. Creates a forum and format for ongoing open communication within functional area or among departments. You'll plan, schedule, and monitor projects from concept through delivery, organizing cross-team activities that balance both business and technical needs. Business needs can change rapidly, so you'll need to stay connected with both internal and external dependencies to ensure a high-quality and on-time delivery. As a Technical PM, you will work with cross-functional teams globally to define strategy and requirements for the overall project work. You will own the reporting of health and progress metrics. You will work with the technical teams to ensure consistency across the program. The candidate who is right for this position will be able to go beyond the surface of product knowledge, learning the technology and being able to effectively understand and communicate how the product functions. This position will support a technical depth space and will require this level of understanding for the candidate to be successful. Specific Responsibilities: * Directs large-scale, complex projects often involving multiple matrix partners * Identifies, mitigates, prioritizes, manages and resolves project issues, constraints, dependencies and risks. * Creates and manages overall plan to include all project tasks and dependencies. * Defines and manages to critical program success factors. * Coordinates cross-org team, proactively ensuring that teams are "in sync" in terms of communication, schedules, issues, etc. * Facilitates decision making with stakeholders, balancing the needs of different constituencies and facilitating consensus. * Proactively identifies risk areas and critical tasks to keep project on track. * Champions and serves as key contributor of continuous improvement of PM best practices, using innovative ideas to increase effectiveness of organization. * Manages mostly high priority projects in terms of complexity, risk, and/or business criticality while managing multiple projects at a given time, juggling activities and prioritizing accordingly. * Facilitates resolution of technical issues.
