Accelerate your career today by supporting public sector organizations as a Technical Business Analyst (BA). As a Technical BA, you will support the implementation of complex, high-quality systems, gathering and analyzing customer business requirements.

Requirements

You will identify core business needs, document concepts of operation, story maps, briefings, user stories, and business rules. You will also construct workflow diagrams, create as-is and future state process maps, and provide gap analysis as needed in an Agile process. Your essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Collaborate and consult key stakeholders to understand their processes, needs, and challenges.

  • Be a primary point of contact for development and other efforts as part of agile processes.

  • Condense complex business processes into clear and actionable user stores with acceptance criteria.

  • Document workflow processes and user stories with flowcharting tools and methods.

  • Facilitate requirements elicitation using interviews, requirements meetings, surveys, document analysis, site visits, use case and workflow analysis.

  • Act as a liaison between external and internal stakeholders and development staff in the analysis, design, configuration, testing, and maintenance of systems to ensure optimal operational performance.

  • Translate business requirements into functional requirements and create business requirement documentation.

  • Responsible for the implementation and support of applications and integration components to address business and technical requirements.

  • Evaluate business and technical needs and develop strategies to support these processes.

  • Maintain a variety of quality assurance and quality control activities:

o Perform analysis, setup, testing, and validation for multiple projects.

o Test and troubleshoot final system setups.

  • Maintain key project documents, dashboards, status reports, issue and resolution logs.

  • Perform various analysis duties, ad-hoc reporting, and research to support day-to-day operational and strategic management decisions.

  • Contribute to the development of project plans and lead smaller scope projects.

  • Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, & ABILITIES

Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology or a related field or college level coursework or equivalent combination of education/experience and experience in analyzing, designing, testing, and documenting production systems.

  • Three years (3) of experience in business process analysis, application implementations and training, project coordination/management and business-related experience.

  • Agile development practices such as continuous integration/continuous delivery, backlog refinement, and retrospectives.

  • Business analyst processes such as those outlined and used in the International Institute of Business Analysis BABOK guide.

  • Project management methodology, standards, documentation, and best practices.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Tools (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).

  • Software Development Life Cycle and development concepts.

  • SQL Server and/or DB2 database experience.

  • Facilitate working meetings, elicit, and solicit information, and absorb the information communicated; facilitate a shared understanding of problems, solutions, and project scope; facilitate solutions to technical challenges among teams.

  • Apply critical thinking skills to determine the appropriateness of requests, with periodic reviews of business procedures to clarify or change a business process.

  • Prioritize across multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

  • Manage time effectively to meet deadlines.

Benefits

The salary for this position is between $100,000 to $125,000 per year, depending upon factors such as qualifications, experience, skill levels, technical competencies, and other criteria.

Location & Work Environment

This position is full-time/hybrid environment, you must reside in Michigan's lower peninsula, you must work four days per month onsite in Lansing.
