Technical Architect Mobile Applications

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Architect is responsible for participating in the program to develop, maintain, and govern technology, information, and business architecture across the enterprise. The architect is responsible for participating in defining and leading technical reviews. The archtiect participates in the establishment and currency of a comprehensive enterprise architecture. This architecture must provide for the over-arching integration of all business process, software, hardware and network components into a cohesive strategy that achieves flexibility (adaptability), scalability, supportability, reduced (total) costs, reduced time to market and enabling new opportunities. The enterprise architect is an advocate for the enterprise architecture and its enabling strategy. The architect will participate in and may lead formal and informal company teams as deemed necessary by the director of enterprise architecture. The architect will mentor and advocate the incorporation of the enterprise architecture. The architect will participate in technical and architecture activities to ensure that tactical & strategic decision making considers the entire enterprise's goals and needs. The architect will provide recommendations and direction for future integration and architecture so that comprehensive and strategic recommendations and planning can be developed and communicated to the business decision makers.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Architecture

• Provide recommendations and direction for future integration and architecture so that comprehensive and strategic recommendations and planning can be developed and communicated to the business decision makers.

• Assist in keeping all strategic architecture plans and documentation updated and current.

• Develop, review, maintain, advocate, and own a set of enterprise architecture documents, plans, and roadmaps. Including, but not limited to Technical Feasibility Assessments, High Level Technical Designs, Architecture Strategies, Reference Architectures, and enterprise standards.

• Participate in tactical problem resolution of critical systems - including participation in crisis management analysis and recommendations.

Governance & Project Guidance

• Participate in technical and architecture activities to ensure that decision making considers the entire enterprise's goals and needs. This includes, but is not limited to Architectural Review Board (ARB) reviews and follow-up monitoring of project design and delivery activities.

• Proactively identify and manage inter-project dependencies, priorities, risks, and issues.

• Work with IT Project Requester or PM to develop the Technical Feasibility Assessment (TFA) document for Funding Requests (Capex and Opex).

Leadership

• Applies active leadership skills to ensure the effectiveness and success for enterprise architecture responsibilities.

• Lead, manage, coach, mentor, motivate, and evaluate assigned staff. Enterprise Architects will spend time with more junior Architects in assisting with deliverables.

• Establishes and encourages an environment of teamwork and open communication.

• Provides input to IT management for optimal organizational structure to implement the Enterprise Architecture.

Acumen

• Develop and maintain knowledge of company's core business processes, strategic business objectives, and strategic initiatives.

• Liaise with clients and business representatives to understand the needs of business.

• Self-driven to remain current in leading technologies and technical trends. This includes attending conferences, workshops, user groups, online training, and other research and training activities.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field of study

• Minimum of 8 years of experience in multiple IT disciplines (application development, middleware design, systems management, and/or information analysis) in a heterogeneous environment.

• Minimum of 8 years or more experience in a related technology field.

• Previous experience as an architect or similar role.

• Exposure to multiple, diverse technologies and processing environments.

• Experience in enterprise-wide technology solution implementations.

• Solid strategic planning and design skills.

• Proven verbal and written communication skills.

• Demonstrated ability to participate and lead teams of highly technical people.

• Demonstrated ability to understand and champion business objectives.

• Experience in the IOS stack desirable.

• Experience with React Native desirable.

• Experience with DevOps pipelines desirable.
