ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Engineering and Design Workplace computing in Enterprise environment that includes
o Understand the landscape of workplace computing in enterprise environment and identify the opportunities to secure, harden, user friendly environment
o Design and hardening the image to meet the security requirements
o Design the patch cycle and deployment process along with the required tools installation for centralized deployment
o Design the production roll out strategy, operational support, and management of the technology and end user computing platform
o Analyze, tune, and troubleshoot operating system and deployment configuration to achieve optimum performance levels.
o Design the software applications installation processes and required tools for mass deployment
o Compare, evaluate, and implement new technologies, and integrate systems with the tools like monitoring, ticketing, asset DB, etc
o Design, develop, test user system policies
o Design management of software licenses, software maintenance, annual budgeting, and reporting
o Provide training and guidance to L1 and L2 tiers of support in the form of Technical Knowledge Base articles and direct training.
o Create end user training in form of written guides and FAQs
o Design the process to maintain the computer inventory for roll over, upgrades, spares, loaners, reclaims, etc.
o Provide root cause analysis for recurring issues on the workplace computing platform.
o Solution the OS and application level patch management
o Participate in direct user support as requested and/or needed at the L3 tier. Some L2 tasks may be assigned during heavy call periods.
o 10+ years of workplace environment in a hands-on corporate environment.
o Must have excellent customer services skills, proven organizational abilities and be able to work in a fast-paced research environment.
o Strong organizational and prioritization skills, ability to juggle and track many tasks and complete them in a timely manner.
o Ability to work well as part of a team, sharing research, knowledge and leading practices with team members.
o Experience with enterprise management tools like SCCM, Bomgar, Flexnet etc
o Expert knowledge of windows/Apple platforms.
o User experience focus
o ITIL concepts strongly preferred
o Strong communication skills
