Job Description:

Position Overview

Open to qualified candidates in the Dover, Delaware area, the Technical Application Specialist (Chemistry and Immunoassay) will solve problems independently and within established policies and procedures. The primary objective is to ensure customer satisfaction as well as timely system implementation and training.

Responsibilities

Management of customer base and growing the business in the Region. This position is responsible for the orchestration of implementation plans with customers for new instruments; Facilitation of training rotations and schedules; Development of timeline for acquiring samples, implementing tests and start up strategies within defined guidelines; Assistance in facilitating the proper customer support for technical issues.

Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

Demonstrates single system products, participates in customer training and pre- and post sales support of clinical product offerings. May participate in in-house clinical trials.

Participates in training courses for customers and company personnel on the working aspects of single system clinical equipment and communicates the technical and clinical information, ensuring customer utilizes equipment with efficiency and skill in appropriate applications. May participate in product promotion for tradeshows and seminars. Supports development of customer relationship.

Provides most complex feedback and recommendations from customers to product development groups. Education: BS/BA in related discipline, or advanced degree, where required, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Certification may be required in some areas. Must have clean driving record over past 3 years.

Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

BA/BS preferably in Medical Technology; thorough technical knowledge of medical technology; 2+ years of laboratory experience; prior field experience is preferred; strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively handle customer problems and support the sales team's efforts; ability to prioritize critical customers and handle the crisis customers first; computer literacy is mandatory (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook, etc.); strong presentation and selling skills; must be completely aligned with the corporate Vision, Values and Beliefs; job requires a large amount of driving within the region.

The Global Quality Standards Specialist is a subject matter expert in the Quality Management System (QMS) and Document Management System (DMS). Supports Site Leadership productivity by collaborating with all EPC functions to understand and address concerns or gaps associated with QMS and DMS. Develops written procedures and training materials to support the QMS and DMS. Stays current with industry trends to ensure best practice solutions are considered and proposed to manage Global Business Process challenges associated with the QMS and DMS. Fosters the visions of Global Business Process Management to continuously seek innovative and improved processes that drive EPC operations towards appropriate quality systems and practices to align with EPC business strategies. Advises senior management on key quality issues that affect business objectives, strategy and cultural impact, and provides recommended solutions to address them. Specific Accountabilities * Working knowledge of relevant regulatory and/or systems requirements per FDA 21 CFR part 11, part 210, part 211, part 820, ISO 9001, ISO 13485, ISO 14001, ISO 22716, GAMP 5, CPSC and Health Canada * Evaluates current Global Quality Business Processes within the QMS and leads efforts in identifying/implementing global quality system process enhancements with appropriate stakeholders * Collaborates with appropriate stakeholders to drive appropriate efficiency into key business processes to support rational execution and improvement and meet applicable regulatory and systems compliance requirements. * Maintains key business systems to ensure accuracy and end user-friendly consideration in design as a strategy. * Benchmarks quality practices of similar industries, and of EPC factories, and ensures that best practices are identified and champions implementation globally as appropriate. * Mentors and develops back-ups for key positions through coaching, training, and setting personal examples. * Develops procedures and training aids to support the Quality System Manual, and its directives * Leads and/or assists in the creation of user guides for automated systems/workflows. * Conducts and coordinates organization-wide training on QMS and DMS procedures. * Conducts periodic assessments of current state processes and procedures to develop future state improvement plans. Required Skills and Experience * BS in Engineering, Sciences or Liberal Arts required, MS and/or MBA preferred. * Requires specific experience in operations and quality assurance aspects of the development, implementation and manufacture of high volume consumer products. * Proficient with structured problem-solving techniques. * Strong interpersonally within a team environment, proactive with duties and relationships * Strong presenter for training and communicating * Proficient with verbal and written English communication * 5 or more years manufacturing experience * Computer skills – working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Minitab.
