The DuPont Water & Protection is recruiting for a Technical Advisor to join our dedicated team located at our manufacturing site in Midland, MI. Water & Protection is a leading provider of engineered products and integrated systems for the construction, worker safety, energy, oil & gas, transportation, water purification and medical marketsAs a Technical Advisor you will provide leadership, operational expertise, technical, mechanical, and hands-on assistance for the safe operation and maintaining of reliable service for all processes and assets aligned to Midland Ion Exchange Cation facility.Key responsibilities include but are not limited to: * Primary focal point for permitting and special projects * Assist in shutdown/turnaround/start-up planning & execution * Back-up Anhydrous HCl Off-loaders as Needed * Cover vacancies on days as needed, all qualified areas of the plant * Demonstrate advanced troubleshooting skills for equipment, process, and quality problems. Takes ownership of analysis of problem and ultimate resolution. Leads and/or participate in Root Cause Investigations. * Complete Safety maintenance, and environmental checks. * Perform maintenance on safety valves and lubrication on plant equipment as dictated by the lubrication program * Maintain inventory of some material and order supplies * Maintain communication across all shifts through participation in morning meetings and other means * Write S.O.P.'s and assist with implementing Operating Discipline * Focal Point for plant orientation of new employees and contractors * Follow all Plant, Department, and Division Safety policies; ask questions as appropriate to clarify any uncertainties. * Maintain proper communications with your Shift Activity Coordinator and plant leadership * Participate in job procedure development * Proactively address and eliminate safety concerns. * Participate in Employee Development, Performance Feedback and individual goal setting * Provides leadership to effectively organize and execute shift activities to achieve plant goals * Able to effectively prioritize the shift activities and assigns tasks for completion. Holds operators accountable for their results. * Prep and isolate equipment for maintenance. Write safe work permits. * Assure compliance with all Environmental, Health & Safety requirements related to assigned roles per plant and site policies. * Follow applicable supporting work processes * Promote an environment of teamwork while leading through example.The Technical Advisor must also be able to fill the role of the Operations Specialist and as needed, will be responsible and accountable for the safe and efficient operation of the Anion/Special Resins plant and associated equipment and all support equipment required to operate and maintain the complex as well as fill the role of Shift Activity Coordinator and/or Immediate Response Leader. The operator will also be expected to run routine analysis as required.Minimum Requirements:
* HS Diploma, GED, or equivalent* 5+ years of previous operating experience in a chemical process and/or advanced technical training in the area of chemical processingPhysical requirements of the job: This job requires moderate physical capabilities. Typical work includes: * Climb stairs an average of 32 industrial flights over an 8-hour shift * Climb an 8-foot ladder or a fixed rung ladder >25 foot height to gain access to valves, tanks, vessels, etc. up to 50% of shift. * Work with arms below, at and above shoulder level is done on an intermittent basis * Perform the job with a typical lift height of 48" * Push up/Pull up to 70 lbs. of force with arms from 2/3 of a shift * Carry weights of 16 lbs. to 50 lbs. 10 feet or >10 feet can be performed from 2/3 of a shift * Kneel to ensure proper body mechanics for lifting from floor to waist * Bend, squat and work in various body positions safely and effectively * Use a twisting motion of the head, neck and waist required for fork truck driving * Wear chemical protective covering (for extended periods) during plant activities which require PPE* Drive a fork truck, operator a condor/scissor lift, and operate a motor vehicle * Properly use basic hand tools (pliers, wrenches, hand cart, etc.)* Work a reasonable amount of overtime (10%-20%)* Work outside in various weather conditions (rain, snow, heat, etc.)* Use of all plant required PPE, including SCBA. * This job requires occasional use of SCBA and respirators. One of the Master Planner roles will focus on our Regenerated and Mixed Beds product line while the second will focus on our Global Raw Materials. The Global Master Planner balances production and inventory levels with demand to support targets consistent with customer service levels, inventory turn targets, capacity utilization/staffing requirements, and the prioritization matrix. Accountable to develop feasible 3 - 24-month IBP rolling master plans at the planned product/trade product/GMID level for all responsible products. They will provide insight for the planned requirements for raw materials and packaging supplies for the 3 - 24-month horizon. They will ensure that business excellence levels are maintained in the master planning functional areas. Location: Dupont Global Water Solutions Locations preferred Responsibilities: Product Supply * Translate demand requirements and supply capability into a time-phased aggregate supply and inventory plan in monthly resolution over the IBP horizon focused on the mid-term horizon that satisfies expected demand at the lowest business cost. * Participate in the IBP process and present in the both the regional and global supply review meetings as required. * Perform capacity planning for the family/sub-family aggregate plans for the business for the mid and long-term horizon. Identify and execute actions necessary to correct short-term and mid-capacity problems. Develop recommendations for IBP process to deal with mid-term and long-term capacity constraints. * Provide inputs for the 3 - 24-month sourcing requirements for raw materials and packaging based on the mid-term production plan and consistent with strategic sourcing strategies and constraints * Tracks all master planning metrics and reports appropriately. Leads root cause analysis for key metrics. * Owns both recommending and facilitating the need for GATP (Global Available to Promise). Works in conjunction with product management to set regional allotments and product family allotments. * Evaluate product escalations in a timely manner and provide a recommendation of the volume and value impact. * Responsible for monthly inventory projections at the product family level. * Recommend changes to target inventories, kanbans, turns and safety stocks when necessary to deliver required customer service levels within policy and guidelines. * Develops appropriate "what if" scenarios for the mid-term horizon to support the IBP plans of the business. * Assure available inventory is located appropriately to meet the business' distribution strategy while minimizing finished product distribution expense and inventory levels. * Specific to the Raw Material Master Planner: * Develop and provide expected demand forecasts for raw materials and packaging materials to suppliers on regular basis. Obtain supply capability confirmation. * Assess and respond to expected raw material storage and distribution capacity requirements based upon supplier lead times. * Support resolution of short-term supply/demand imbalances for raw materials and packaging materials. * Participate in and provide data for evaluation of supplier service performance and work with sourcing and suppliers to improve performance. * Evaluate raw material escalations in conjunction with the appropriate global master planner for the product family in a timely manner and provide a recommendation of the volume and value impact. Communication * Collaborate with Demand Managers and Regional Enablement Leaders to ensure lead time and resource capacity requirements are considered when reviewing and approving all demands. * Facilitates communication and interaction with Sales, Marketing, Product Management, Demand Management, Supply Chain, Manufacturing and Sourcing to effectively balance supply and demand in the short and mid-term horizons via the IBP process. Technology, Systems and Improvement * Ensures all planning parameters and key assumptions are reviewed and updated regularly (e.g., yield, cycle time, uptime, shutdown days, etc.) * Define and identify the business requirements to maximize the use and value in the planning and scheduling tools implementation and improvement and ensures appropriate education of the use of said tools. * Reconcile Global APO view with regional monthly supply reviews and monthly demand outputs. * Troubleshoot APO issues globally and be capable of recognizing and correcting issues. * Specific to the Raw Material Master Planner: * Develop, in conjunction with current SAP/APO planning tools a raw material outlook. * Develop a Global APO view with regional monthly supply reviews and monthly demand outputs * Partner with APAY, Operations, Reactor Planners and Receiving to resolve invoicing/receiving issues Decisions: * Balance and reconcile demand, supply and inventory in mid-term horizon to meet customer requirements within policy and business objectives. * Key issues to escalate based on policies Metrics/Performance: * Aggregate Supply Plan Performance (Accuracy & Bias) * Capacity Utilization * Inventory to Plan ($, Volume, IDS) * Master Data accuracy (planning systems) Deliverables: * Valid Production Plan (mid-term) * Communication of Production Plan and its impact both volume and value based * Policy and processes relevant to responsibilities (Capacity, Lead time, tolerances, Distribution restocking, etc.) * Develop and present the mid-term rolling plan in the IBP process * Identify supply chain capability/gaps to support the long-term horizon including 'what-if' scenarios. * Communicate and lead reconciliation of short-term supply issues * Inventory outlook by product family Role Pre-requisites: * 5 Year equivalent SC experience, Manufacturing, scheduling, and planning experiences * Strong written and verbal English skills are required Training / Certifications * ASCM CPIM certification (can be obtained within 18 months of acceptance) * Six Sigma Green / Black Belt and/or certified Lean Practitioner (preferred) * SAP / APO / Diamond Systems preferred Degree Requirements * BS/BA degree in Supply Chain, business, or technical field * ASCM certification (can be obtained within 18 months of acceptance) * 5 years relevant experience Behaviors * Lead others in problem solving * Incorporating vision into daily actions * Prioritization DuPont is an equal opportunity employer.
