Compensation includes a base salary of $58,400.00 - $87,600.00. The base salary may vary within the anticipated base pay range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include an incentive program.

Job Description

Job Summary:

The Technical Ad Ops Specialist will work as part of the Digital Ad Operations Center of Excellence and is responsible for all aspects of the technical set up and troubleshooting of digital media campaigns. This includes supporting technical asset creation for campaign management, tracking and optimization. This position will serve as a facilitator between Cox Media's field sales team, Cox Media customers, DSP platforms and internal fulfillment teams.

They will be responsible for supporting technical activities in platforms such as Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Wordpress and more. The Technical Ad Ops Specialist will lead technical troubleshooting efforts between Cox Media clients, webmasters, and third parties. This role must be able to have a strong attention to detail, high-level of digital media experience & website coding and critical problem-solving skills.

Primary responsibilities and essential functions:

Campaign Tracking Activities:

  • Assist in development of pixel and goal strategies on advertising campaigns for Cox Media's customers

  • Implement media measurement activities such as conversion tracking, pixel placement, UTM tracking, container tags, VAST tags etc.

  • Support client setup and manage analytics accounts by establishing event tracking, reporting on metrics, aligning audience strategies, and gathering customized insights based on the client's website traffic.

  • Creates campaign post-launch information such as screenshots, links, and placement information to demonstrate proof of placement for clients (as necessary or required).

  • Ensures overall accountability for the timely activation of all technical aspects of digital media campaign setup including coordinating directly with Cox Media customers.

Troubleshooting and Technical Support:

  • Executes Quality Assurance (QA) of tracking functionality and to identify and solve any issues within the analytics implementation.

  • Provide functional and technical expertise to support installation of pixels, container tags, and website code updates

  • Maintain reporting workflows including but not limited to new offer launch, default rates, and delivery in-full validation reporting and analysis.

  • Work with external ad technology vendors to troubleshoot and call out issues that require additional investigation and technical support, working with the COE Leadership Team and DSMs / Strategists to resolve discrepancies and unexpected behavior.

Digital Knowledge & Professional Development:

  • Staying informed of industry trends and best practices, focusing on how changes can help improve offerings to accounts and sharing knowledge to team members.

  • Act as subject matter expert of Cox Media's digital media portfolio and invest in continued education on internal processes and compliance standards.

  • Achieve and maintain related Google and Meta certifications.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Work closely with other internal departments such as field sales, ad operations peers and Advertising Strategists to streamline processes and enhance overall efficiency.

  • Collaborate with the sales team to identify opportunities for accurate execution of digital fulfillment processes and campaign support.

  • Manage communications with internal and external stakeholders as it relates to campaign activation.

Qualifications and Experience:

Minimum Qualifications

  • HS diploma or GED

  • 6 or more years' experience in digital media working in analytics and / or technical as operations

  • 1 or more years implementing pixels and tags on various websites. Should be comfortable doing so on Wordpress, Squarespace, Wix, and custom HTML sites.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work in a fast-paced environment.

  • Ability to reason, troubleshoot and problem solve

  • Knowledge of digital campaign analytics and the transition to GA4

Preferred Qualifications

  • BA/BS degree in related discipline Marketing, Business Administration

  • Experience creating custom GA views, creating and troubleshooting GTM containers, setting up conversion events, analyzing data to proactively identify ad tracking errors and improve set-up.

  • Expert knowledge of GA4 architecture and best practices, GA 4 certification

  • History of learning new DSP's and becoming a technical expert in the creation and troubleshooting of campaigns and ad tracking technology within them.

  • Functional knowledge of other analytics platforms like Adobe Analytics, Pardot, SFMC, etc.
