The Techical Data Analyst - Royalty is responsible for providing support functions for the global royalty platform, including documenting and implementing new processes and data flows as needed. They are also responsible for providing expertise for analyzing information germane to the overall data consistency aspects of the system and supporting users through as is and to be functionality as they onboard to the global platform. They will work closely with the rest of the Royalty Technology group for department wide initiatives and objectives.


  • Ability to proficiently work with software including SSIS, MS SQL, Excel, PowerPoint.

  • Prepares documentation to support the onboarding of new business units on to the global platform.

  • Collect, analyze and summarize data needed to complete testing and troubleshooting exercises as appropriate.

  • Performs ad-hoc data queries or reports at the request of the business or team.

  • Provide direction and support to identifying modifications for business units when the underlying criteria/logic requirements change.

  • Collaborates with other teams for various operational initiatives and projects.

  • Provides mentoring and training of other team members on related processes and applications as required.

  • QA for production and project systems as required.

  • Maintains relationships with end users as part of our support for Agencies using our customer facing portal and troubleshoots data issues as needed.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.


  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience

  • Minimum of five years' experience and proficiency using various software tools including SSIS, SQL, Excel, Word, PowerPoint. Visio, Project, and Oracle a plus. Experience in JIRA also a plus.

  • Royalty related experience a plus

  • Excellent problem-solving skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Flexibility and willingness to work in a cooperative team environment

  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment

As an Investment Operations - Business Analyst Data Quality and Control, you will join an existing team responsible for the quality and timely delivery of complete, accurate, and timely investment data utilized by an existing reporting team and that which is made available to all clients and market segments of Prudential Retirement. In this role, you will support data and quality control functions with the investment platform organization focused on preparation of client/market facing investment collateral including: supporting information for fund fact-sheets, investment performance reports, analytics reports, benchmarks, and other investment reports. In addition, you will directly support implementation and ongoing execution of quality control and data validation processes intended to ensure accuracy of all final investment materials produced in hard copy, or displayed on websites consistent with established policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. In this role, you will work closely with the Investment Platform and Product teams, as well as vendors and data service providers supporting the investment operations area. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: * Support production functions and delivery of all investment data elements, including the generation of performance grids and monitoring report delivery-metrics, and overall data quality metrics. * Assist in the development of Quality Control programs, and perform ongoing validation of investment data controls, quality processes, and performance metrics. * Identify and provide timely resolution for investment data errors impacting all areas of Investment Reporting and data consumption/utilization. * Support production by working with management to document and communicate in a timely manner on issues impacting the quality of reported materials. * Anticipate and recommend solutions to complex data questions. * Partner with control partners and vendors on control enhancements, issue research, and resolution. * Provide distribution review/approval of data changes within the IMDM platform. * Support production by working with peers on procedures that drive efficiencies in problem resolution and is a point of contact for root cause analysis. Qualifications: * Minimum of 2-6 years of financial services experience ideally in investment reporting or operations areas * Knowledge of database concepts and experience with SQL query tools * Expert knowledge of excel data analytic tools * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills especially in data intensive production/reporting functions * Process analysis, quality control, and continuous improvement familiarity * Strong knowledge of investment performance reporting practices, and product/investment vehicles and structures * Experience in development or application of metrics, data validation methodologies, and proficient use of complex reporting tools * Problem-solving skills and ability to navigate through ambiguity * Excellent written and oral communication skills * Experience working with investment vehicles commonly used in ERISA-covered plans (i.e. Mutual Funds, Collective Investment Trusts, Insurance Co Separate accounts) preferred * Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience * Prudential Financial, Inc. of the United States is not affiliated with Prudential plc. which is headquartered in the United Kingdom.
