Job Duties / Responsibilities

  • Individual possesses and is able to perform Terminal Operator requirements

  • Responsible for routine Tank Gauging, Sampling and Hydrocarbon Product Analysis.

  • Hazwoper Training - Barge Dock PIC Training required by USCG.
    ? Willingness to update existing training and attend new training to meet Company and/or Governmental requirements.

  • Attend Monthly Safety Meetings and other Meetings and Drills as required.

  • Responsible for gathering, recording, storing, accessing and sharing of information in compliance with Security Policy, Procedures and Codes of the Company Practice and Governmental Policies.

  • Responsible for documentation and data entry for the Terminal Operating System.

  • Responsible for compliance with appropriate action to comply with Terminal Health and Safety requirements at all times.

  • Work cooperatively with other employees, contributing positively and constructively for the achievement of the Terminal and Company Objectives.
    Minimum Essential Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Interpersonal communication skills are required in order to interface with all affected teams, personnel, and vendors; able to work in a self-directed work team.

  • Must be proficient in the use of all Microsoft Office software modules, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and others

  • Must work with a minimum of supervision and be able to manage their time when given multiple tasks.
    Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • Ability to lift, push, and pull 75 pounds.

  • Ability to work in changing climate conditions and a plant environment.

  • Able to work in close quarters: i.e., work while kneeling, squatting, sitting, climbing, and standing.

  • Follow and adhere to all applicable Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) guidelines (ex: eye protection, footwear, Nomex).

  • The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms.

Assist in dispatching, paperwork processing, and communicating with vessels and customers. Responsibilities * Schedule and coordinate flow of work based on customer orders. * Establish priorities and availability of personnel, equipment, and resources. * Maintain records and reports, process paperwork to ensure proper billing for services to customers. * Maintain communications with vessel Captains and barge PIC's regarding change of orders via computer or cell communications * Assist in developing, and monitor procedures and programs to track company and crew activities. * Dispatch personnel in response to incidents and emergency requests from vessels. * Coordinate commercial activities and reports between shoreside operations and Harley Marine Gulf (HMG) vessels. Qualifications * Fifteen years of increasing shoreside responsibilities in maritime industry preferred. * Ten years of dispatching experience required. * Extensive knowledge of the local inland operating area. * Extensive knowledge of tugboat and oil transportation industry. * Knowledge of tug and barge maintenance systems and equipment preferred. * Must be able to maintain organization and detailed documentation in a fast paced changing environment. * Capable of making decisions and giving directions to facilitate prompt service delivery. * Must be capable of calculating barge load and discharge plans after training. * Ability to understand and execute complex oral and written instructions. * Ability to work independently with minimal or no guidance. * Must be physically fit enough to board barges and tugs at sea and in port. * Ability to interface with others using courtesy, tact, and good judgment. * Working knowledge of Microsoft Suite. * HAZWOPER training. * First Aid/CPR/AED training. * Valid TWIC or ability to obtain upon hire. * Valid State Driver's License. Job Condition and Environment * Required to sit for long periods of time. * Infrequent light physical effort required. * May be required to board tugs and barges while in port. * Work with computers, fax machines, copiers, scanners, Microsoft operating systems. Expected Hours of Work * Normal office hours are 0800 to 1700 Monday thru Friday but must have flexibility in this schedule. * May occasionally be required to cover after hours dispatch service. * Take communications 24 hours a day, including weekends, concerning changes in schedules and other operating issues.
