Job Description:
Supports District schools and principals in their effort to foster an optimal educational environment for students. Plans, implements, integrates, maintains and supports the use of technology in the classroom and its integration into the learning experience.
Implements the vision and assists in the leadership of integrating technology into the schools. Assists in the development and implementation of technology instruction, programs, and services that align with the mission, vision, beliefs, and goals of the Cave Creek Unified School District. MAJOR TASKS:
Plans installation of technology, including computers and network equipment, for the purpose of meeting district technology needs. Installs, configures, maintains, and troubleshoots a variety of network access points; including switches, hubs, patch panels, wireless access points and adapter cards, etc. Installs, configures, maintains, and troubleshoots a variety of software and databases, in conjunction with other district technology staff.
Deploys technologies for use by educators, staff, students, parents, and the community. Troubleshoots and resolves specific and district-wide computer, network, and technology issues escalated from Level I technical support. Assists in the successful operation of the district-wide student information software system, curriculum and assessment software, and all educational software in classrooms and labs.
Understands the operation of hardware and software set up for classrooms and labs, and can resolve problems as they occur. Under the direction of senior staff, has the ability and knowledge to access district servers for performance of software installation, accounts, shares, and server maintenance. Requests quotations and product specifications for the purpose of providing cost information, purchasing, and securing hardware, software, and other resources.
Prepares documentation for the purpose of providing written support, support history, documentation, and other written communications with intra and interdepartmental staff. Keeps informed of changes or developments in technology by participating in technology department meetings and training opportunities. Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Information Management & Technology.
QUALIFICATIONS: A high school graduate or GED equivalent. Additional schooling in a technology trade plus one (1) year of experience in technology, or five (5) years experience in technology. Experience supporting Windows based systems in a networked environment including installation and troubleshooting, configuration of hardware, software and peripherals.
Ability to coach users in the use of technology hardware and software systems. Experience in the use of Microsoft Office applications, e-mail and other software programs such as Microsoft Office, Outlook, Zenworks, and various diagnostic utilities. Experience implementing technology into classrooms, labs, and other school environments.
Intermediate/Advanced knowledge of technology systems, hardware, software, and Internet use. ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Physical Demands:
