Job Description

Salary non-exempt employee responsible for the manufacture, fabrication, and installation of manufacturing and developmental hardware for mechanical systems, units, control devices, trailers and associated equipment. Candidate must be able determine methods, sequence of operations assemble, self-inspect, and perform repairs on developmental and production devices, units, sub-systems, systems and associated equipment.

Typical Duties and Responsibilities:

Works from design drawings, and schematics as well as oral and written instructions.Determines sequence of operations to assemble manufacturing and development systems, sub-systems, units, control devices and associated equipment as specified by Manufacturing Engineers and Responsible Engineering Authorities.May use hand and power tools and equipment as necessary in order to perform above duties

Performs rework, retrofit and repair of the same nature and level of difficulty as described.Performs incidental related duties as assigned.Required Skills and Education:
1+ years relevant experience in manufacturing, fabrication or similar discipline to include military experience

Knowledge of general manufacturing processes.

  • High School Diploma

  • Understanding of basic electronic and/or mechanical assembly.

  • Desired Skills and Education:

  • Associate's degree in a technical discipline or technician certificate from a trade school

  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) to effectively communicate across all levels of the organization.

  • Ability to read mechanical drawings and electrical schematics

  • Demonstrated capability to perform a broad, diverse range of technical tasks

  • Capable of receiving detailed instructions and expressing technical concepts clearly

  • Ability to work with large and small teams, depending on circumstances

  • Ability to work with lifting fixtures and forklifts

  • Ability to work with hand tools such as drills, wrenches, hydraulic jacks, etc.

Job duties include: 1. Master routine operations of the Service Desk. Acts as an initial point of contact for hierarchical escalations and complex issue resolution within the Service Desk. 2. Participates in Service Desk planning. Assists with the development of operating goals and objectives for the Service Desk and support planning for new and existing services. Recommends, implements, and administers methods and procedures to enhance and maintain operations. 3. Supports ITSM tools and activities. Assists with the functional and business analysis activities of our ITSM tool, including user support and training. 4. Coordinates Service Desk documentation activities. Coordinates and completes internal process documentation, internal Knowledge Engineering, and Knowledge Centered Support activities and processes within the Service Desk. 5. Coordinates Service Desk support of IT services. Acts as liaison between the Service Desk and technical teams, and as primary point of contact for expertise and support coordination within the Service Desk. Works on a team of Service Desk Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) responsible for Tier 2 support activities including expert issue resolution, customer support testing, knowledge development, and internal training. 6. Performs quality assurance checks of tickets, calls, and in-person interactions. 7. Supervise lower level staff and/or student employees.
