Overview
Global Tech Strategy is a well established part of the organization that is getting re-defined to support the newly formed S&T organization. In the new structure, there will be an expanded scope (legacy IT, S&T and GBS that come together as the new S&T). The new S&T organization will set a North Star for all of S&T's >17,000 associates and >$__B in spend across all of PepsiCo's businesses & geographies. This function will set the North Star Tech Strategy spanning horizontal and vertical S&T teams.
The purpose of the team is to develop and to manage the end-to-end tech strategy across enabling tech capabilities to support digital transformation initiatives. This includes setting the 'macro vision' for resource allocation ($/ppl) and the 'micro glide path' of required technologies across the short, medium and long-term horizons. To compliment themacro and micro objectives, the tech strategy will bring an external lens of tech investments to ensure PepsiCo is aligned with internal objectives and external trends.
In summary, the Tech strategy team plays a critical role and ensuring PepsiCo invests in the right technologies, with the right resources to to achieve our company's digital objectives.
This role will report directly to the VP Global Strategy, Innovation, Venturing and partner alliances.
Responsibilities
This role will support a high number of senior leaders within the horizontal and vertical S&T organization.
This is a leadership role influencing 20+ executive leaders including the SVPS and EVP of Strategy &Transformation. This position is heavy on stakeholder engagement and alignment whilst working in a complex matrix organization/environment to deliver results:
Define overall tech priorities for technology capabilities to achieve digital transformation and overall company objectives.
Help guide IT costs/investments: Influence the digital strategy and tech capability roadmaps, through benchmarking of maturity/performance/cost, and through externally informed best practices, assessments and technology trends
Build a glide path to adopt emerging technologies: Develop and maintain comprehensive Tech roadmap (aka glidepath) to achieve vertical strategy. This includes
Tracking technology trends
Identifying key technology areas for investment.
Evaluating risks and opportunities for PepsiCo
Outlining tech-enabled glide path to achieve the vision (e.g., cloud, AI/Data, Cyber security)
Make recommendations on shape of our tech resource allocation and spend across enabling capabilities (bottoms up)
Lay out tech requirements for horitzontal 'enabling' teams (e.g., cloud, AI/Data, Cyber security)
Work with finance and enabling functions to calculate financial costs
Align the tech capability roadmaps and investments across Global Capability teams (and Sector teams, where relevant).
The focus should be the 3-year horizon via strong partnership with finance and key functions. This includes
Provide input on objectives/OKRs for Global Capability teams in alignment with tech strategy and priorities
Drive special capability projects that cut across global/sector teams related to global tech capabilities and tech strategy
The role requires the individual to provide strong leadership and guidance to all S&T Horizontal and Vertical Teams, in order to align the Tech strategic glide path with the vertical priorities.
This leader must act as a key communicator across S&T Teams -
Ensure the Tech strategy fully supports vertical visions (e.g., automation needs in year 1,2,3)
Ensure the Tech strategy is communicated with the right clarity to the enabling S&T functions.
Imbed and provide input into the horizontal, enabling function, strategies to be aligned with vertical tech needs over the 1,2,3 year horizons (e.g., cloud, cyber security needs in years 1,2,3)
The requirements include a foundational technical understanding to integrate vertical tech glide-paths with horizontal tech strategies.
The leader must be a good external collaborator to understand mega trends, and resource alllocations in peer orgnaizations.
The position requires establishing close partnerships with EA, Vertical leaders, innovation and Horizontal enabling-function leaders. This includes proactively identifying and addressing 'tension gaps' where there may be unclear or miss-aligned strategies.

Compensation & Benefits:
The expected compensation range for this position is between $146,100 - $289,900 based on a full-time schedule.
Location, confirmed job-related skills and experience will be considered in setting actual starting salary.
Bonus based on performance and eligibility; target payout is 35% of annual salary paid out annually.
and an additional target payout of 15% of annual salary is paid out over 3 years following the end of the performance period.
Long term incentive equity may be awarded based on eligibility and performance.

Qualifications
Data-driven approach to assess capability maturity, benchmark costs, define OKRs etc.
Applied technology experience: Ability to influence tech leaders on business application of technologies, including guidance on adoption of global-to-local solutions
Emerging tech insights: Familiarity with key technology trends, posture being taken by Fortune 50+ players, and risks/tradeoffs to consider
Experience working in a large, matrixed corporate environment partnering senior executives to create and execute strategy.
Potential backgrounds
Professional: 5+ years of Tech Consulting experience
Professional: 10+ years in Technology/Digital Consulting, Digital Transformation, and/or Product management
Academic: Master's in Business Admin (MBA), or Master of Science in Engineering/Management Info Systems
Industry: Experience in global CPG or Digital Native companies at scale
Must possess a global mindset and ability to flex and adapt style as needed.
