Job Description:

Bank of America / Merrill Lynch is seeking an Applied Engineering developer to support the Applied Engineering function, including Application Resiliency Design, BCP Coverage and establishing standards and guidelines for Application Technology across the Global Markets CTO organization.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Provide technical expertise in all aspects of solution design and application development for Markets business environments.

  • Focus on implementation and adoption of Cloud technologies and best practices for automation, deployment, configuration, monitoring, and ensuring the reliability and robustness of the platform as it scales in scope and usage

  • Work with project / initiative teams to insure proper design and infrastructure patterns for high availability, failover, infrastructure / code certification, and customized monitoring

  • Develop and build automation tools and processes to support development and production environments.

  • Work closely with Markets business partners in defining requirements for applications.

  • Work collaboratively with a geographically dispersed team

Required Skills / Experience:

Technical Skills

  • Experience in developing large-scale, user-facing web sites and applications

  • Experience as an applied engineer, developer and/or architect of web-based applications and current technologies / architectures including IaaS, PaaS, Docker, kubernetes and Openshift.

  • Development skills/tools: Java EE, Eclipse, Unix Shell Scripting, ANT, Jython/Python, .Net, Powershell, Javascript, React

  • Experience with Continuous Integration and Delivery practices and automation tools (e.g., Jenkins, Ansible / Tower)

  • Experience of Git source control

  • Experience with SDLC development processes (Waterfall, Agile, Lean) and tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, Rally)

  • Experience with leading process change

  • Experience with Service Oriented Architectures

  • Excellent problem solving & troubleshooting skills

  • Strong knowledge and understanding of network technologies (e.g., TCP/IP networking, SSL, Firewall, Proxy, Load Balancing)

  • Experience running projects, tracking resources, timelines and budget

  • Middleware engineering skills with focus on Apache, Weblogic, Tomcat, JBoss and IIS

Communication / Relationship Skills

  • Lead effectively in a matrix organization with teams of skilled architects, engineers, developers and business partners with minimal supervision.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to adjust to technical and non-technical audiences across the organization

  • Resolve and influence the positive outcome of conflicting objectives and priorities

  • Experience creating technical documentation and training materials

  • Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision and collaborate effectively with local and remote co-workers

Education/Experience

  • 8-10 years infrastructure or software engineering / development experience

Desired Skills:

  • Minimum of a 4 year degree in computer science or equivalent experience

Information Security Engineer 5: * Provide senior level technical support of mainframe security in a large, complex Multi-LPAR RACF environment utilizing RRSF (RACF Remote Sharing Facility), zSecure, RACF/DB2 and CICS. * Work with internal and end-user personnel to define customized access solutions, reporting, notification, and data gathering as required. * Occasional after hour support as required for implementations. * Participates in the research, analysis, design, testing and implementation of complex computer security/protection technologies for company information and systems/applications. * Performs periodic detailed assessments of the operating system and infrastructure components' security configuration to identify security vulnerabilities and provides remediation alternatives. * Participates in the evaluation of vendor proposals, new and existing security designs, and emerging security technologies and systems. * An alternative role may include leveraging existing zSeries skills to work on mainframe security remediation projects. * Using a Wells Fargo methodology, leads or assists senior engineers in researching, analyzing, designing, testing and implementing security solutions. * Leads or assists senior level engineers with analysis to identify security vulnerabilities and conduct security risk assessments to ensure compliance with corporate security policies and adherence to best practices. * Assists in computer security incident response activities and technical investigations of security-related incidents. * Provide technical guidance to less experienced staff. * Open to any location within the Wells Fargo footprint* Required Qualifications * 7+ years of information security applications and systems experience * 7+ years of mainframe security risk assessment and remediation experience * 7+ years of mainframe security engineering experience * 7+ years of Resource Access Control Facility (RACF) experience * 7+ years of mainframe security experience * 7+ years of JCL (Job Control Language) experience * 7+ years of TSO (Time Sharing Options) experience * 7+ years of security engineering experience in a multi-node RACF Remote Sharing Facility (RRSF) complex z/OS environment * 7+ years of Resource Access Control Facility (RACF) experience with at least current and supported version z/OS 2.1 and above * 7+ years of mainframe security experience using native z/OS and Resource Access Control Facility (RACF) tools * 7+ years of experience issuing Resource Access Control Facility (RACF) commands and performing diagnosis Desired Qualifications * Advanced Information Security technical skills and understanding of information security practices and policies * Ability to manage complex issues and develop solutions * Excellent verbal and written communication skills Other Desired Qualifications * zSecure tool experience is a plus Job Expectations * Ability to work on call as assigned * Flexibility to frequently be on call beyond normal working hours Disclaimer All offers for employment with Wells Fargo are contingent upon the candidate having successfully completed a criminal background check.
