What Scientific/Prod Dev contributes to Cardinal Health
Scientific/Product Development is responsible for performing tasks according to work instructions and following standard operating procedures for variety of activities.
Accountabilities in this role
Participates in developing new products through implementation and adherence to established design control processes and good documentation practices
Demonstrates and applies knowledge of various testing methodologies
Assists with resolving testing issues
Provides various types of support for engineering activities and other team members
Assists with a full range of laboratory technical assignments including but not limited to test method development, medical device inspections and measurements, equipment installation or procurement, validations, reviewing testing standards, ordering supplies, maintaining records
Regularly operates benchtop equipment, measurement instruments and gauges
Uses considerable judgment in making decisions requiring interpretation and application of guidelines with extensive latitude to specific work situation
Maintains a personal laboratory notebook with records of generated testing data and explanation of any procedures or information related to studies that are not presented in an SOP, Protocol or otherwise documented
Follows lab safety rules at all times
Education or Equivalent: HS diploma required. Associate certificate/degree in computer or electronics technology or equivalent preferred.
At least one year working in a Research & Development Environment or equivalent combination of education and experience
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures or governmental regulations.
Preferred Education: Associate's degree in sciences or engineering
Experience: 1-3 years lab experience, preferably in R&D or Quality, regulated environment a plus
Microsoft office, technical writing, basic lab knowledge (GLP), ability to operate various lab equipment and comprehend internal procedures
Must be versatile and adaptable to work on different projects with variety of team members
Must have proficient communication skills to interact with engineers and scientists.
Strong interpersonal skills are needed
Must have excellent attention to detail
