Manage Tech Control COMSEC account.
Provide 24/7 crews with material required to ensure uninterrupted circuit availability 24/7/365.
Perform Primary COMSEC Responsible Officer (CRO) duties on behalf of the Tech Control Facility (TCF).
Maintain communications with 21CS COMSEC office to ensure all material is available to 24/7 crews.
Ensure TCF COMSEC program is in compliance with Government directives at all times.
Ensure the alternate TCF CRO and all crew personnel are trained/certified to perform COMSEC tasks.
Ensure TCF Lead is kept informed of any COMSEC issues/concerns.
Ensure all crew personnel understand COMSEC incident reporting procedures are understood and followed as required.
Work closely with TCF Training Tech, who serves as alternate COMSEC CRO.
TCF Training program support consists of:
Becoming crew certified through successful completion of the TCF crew training qualification program.
Serve as Alternate Training Program POC for TCF crew personnel.
Ensure crew personnel are qualified to perform tasks contained in their training qualification folder.
Recommend crew personnel for remedial training as necessary.
Assist with all crew training as needed.
TS/SCI clearance required. Must meet DoD 8570 certification eligibility requirements. Must have excellent technical and communications skills to effectively interface with internal and external customers at all levels. Must be able to work in a high visibility environment, focused on 24X7 mission availability, and quickly respond to customer direction/requests. 5-7 years' experience in technical control or circuit actions operations or a related field. Demonstrated ability to develop communications technical solutions & "as-built" documentation; install and configure communications equipment and systems; use of database applications; and familiarity with DISA Facility and Information Tracking (FACiT) program desirable.
Working knowledge of legacy serial communications interfaces (RS530/232/422). Working knowledge of legacy layer-2 protocols ADCCP, Mode 1, Mode 1A, MWTTY, GSM, ASCII.
Ability to construct DB-25/15/9, RJ-45, 568A/B cables. Working knowledge of layer-3 IP network functions and the ability to configure network appliances operating at this layer. Ability/knowledge of various serial/IP network and cable test equipment tools (from 75bps - OC192). Familiar with terminal emulation software (i.e., HyperTerminal and putty) and network monitoring tools (i.e., What's up Gold and Internet Explorer).
Design and installation of new circuitry and communications systems; communication plan reviews, and trend analysis. Perform TCF Crew Operations duties and complex circuit/system outage restoral/repair; trainer and additional duties as assigned. Compliance with facility installation standards; review technical documentation and submit technical solutions and costing data; assist with customer inquiries IAW with established guidelines.
2 years technical training or equivalent preferred; Cisco, Juniper, CTP, ATM, SONET training considered a plus.
