The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
Position Summary
Reporting to the Director of Nursing and Quality Management and working closely with Student Health Care providers, the Technician B will be responsible for performing a variety of clerical and clinical support duties required to operate and efficient, effective and student focused Student Health on Haven. Specific duties include, but are not limited to, preparing injectable as directed by Health Care provider; taking and recording vital signs, preparing laboratory samples, performing data entry, maintaining patients' laboratory records, preparing patients for examination, calling in prescriptions to pharmacies, assisting care providers during procedures, and performing phlebotomy, EKG and spirometry. The Technician B will also perform Medical Receptionist duties. The Technician B will use the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system for chart retrieval, processing patients to providers, and other duties as assigned
Responsibilities
Prepare injectable.
Take and perform vital signs
Prepare laboratory samples
Maintain patient laboratory records in EHR.
Assist health care providers.
Perform phlebotomy, EKG and spirometry.
Cover the front desk.
Process medical record requests.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in chemistry, biology, physics, or related science or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Medical Assistant certification (CAAHEP or ABHES) necessary and may substitute in part for a degree
Preferred Qualifications
Ability to interact in a courteous, professional, and friendly manner to perform duties in a timely fashion.
Excellent organizational and written/oral communication skills.
