Under the general direction of Unit Operations Manager & Technical Manager, individual performs a variety of duties supporting the daily operations of the IR Division. Responsibilities include and are not limited to: procedure room set-up, room turnover, sterile table and field set-up and support, sterile inventory management support and room stock, as well as equipment management. Individual will ensure that multiple areas of the division are adequately stocked and prepared to treat a wide variety of patients. The individual may be asked to perform a variety of tasks to assist in the daily workflow including transportation of patients, greeting and escorting patients between IR units and patient positioning in the procedure room. Individual must also have the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and work well within a group setting.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist Technologists as needed including patient positioning/prep, input of patient demographics into imaging equipment, sending/checking images in PACS, documentation, interaction with the sterile field, hand-off of contrast, and room turnover tasks.

  • Under the guidance of the inventory coordinator, assist with various tasks related to RFID tagging of product and stocking med/surg. supplies in appropriate RFID cabinets throughout the units.

  • Stock the IR clinic and mobile carts throughout the unit with appropriate supplies and maintain supply levels.

  • Assist staff with maintaining stock in the procedure rooms as assigned.

  • Working with the Tech Supervisors in each area, assist in daily operations and room flow.

  • Drop-off/Pick up sterile supplies between IR and SPD as needed.

  • Assist in ensuring adequate med gases to treat pts is available in the division

  • Where necessary, assist in patient transport.

  • Stock clean linen as needed including the blanket warmer.

  • Assist in equipment maintenance via placing service tickets as needed and ensuring PM stickers remain up to date.

  • Placing service tickets with B&G, PACS, ISD, Help Desk as needed.

  • Follow proper patient identification process.

  • Appropriately address patients identified as a falls risk.

  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment.

  • Other duties as assigned.

SKILLS & COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:

  • Effective interpersonal and communications skills.

  • Attention to detail.

  • Ability to provide compassionate care to patients.

  • Ability to recognize emergency situations and respond appropriately.

  • Ability to lift over 5 lbs.

  • Must be able to speak, read and write English.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Strong organizational skills.

  • Must demonstrate appropriate knowledge of the principles of growth and development of patients of all age groups.

  • Must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients imaged in the department.

HS Diploma or equivalent required; some college or Associate's preferred

1 year of previous healthcare experience and CPR certification preferred
