Responsible for consulting with and advising organizational leaders and Team Members on TM relations and other related issues within an assigned client group or groups. Assesses and anticipates Team Member, Team Leader, and related organizational needs and works across TMS departments to develop and deliver integrated solutions. Works with leadership to adapt and apply TMS initiatives and programs in a manner that supports local business needs. Serves as the client face of TMS, acting as an interface and liaison with other TMS groups (including Recruiting, Team Member / Team Leader Development, Compensation, Benefits, HRIS) as well as the Legal organization. Ensures compliance with corporate policies, government regulations and statutory requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Supports assigned organizations through provision of and / or advice relating to various TMS functions and processes, including:

  • Recruiting,

  • Performance management, talent assessment, and Team Member development,

  • Team Member relations,

  • HRIS input and update,

  • Compensation and benefits,

  • Diversity and inclusion,

  • Succession and replacement planning.

  • Ensures all processes associated with payroll, new hire, transfer and termination transactions are accurate and up to date.

  • Responsible for Team Members' communication, education and advice on all TMS programs and systems.

  • Recommends system and process improvements for related TMS functions.

  • Builds consensus and resolves internal disputes on TMS policy and practice decisions.

  • Partners with Global TMS teams on special projects and assignments.

  • Provides local support for global programs and initiatives.

  • Ensures compliance and proper application of all federal, state, and local laws, including FMLA, I-9, SOX, and FLSA.

  • Ensures client understanding of and compliance with applicable company policies / practices.

  • Ensures all legal and employment postings are visible and current.

  • Maintains and oversees Team Members' files.

  • Fulfills TMS responsibilities associated with all parts of the unemployment process, including responding to claims, appeals, and participating in hearings.

Skills:

  • Working knowledge of Human Resources concepts, practices, programs, and methodologies.

  • Understands company Human Resources policies, practices, and expectations.

  • Understands and is able to apply parameters of labor issues including FMLA, ADA, HIPAA, and Leaves of Absence.

  • Working knowledge of federal, state, and local Human Resources regulations and how these affect and are applied within WFM.

  • Working knowledge of HRMS systems and programs.

  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Kronos, Workday, and other HRIS.

  • Tailors communication approach to specific situations and audiences.

  • Provides first point of contact for leadership and / or Team Member questions.

  • Communicates and demonstrates support for TMS decisions even if not consistent with own point of view.

  • Makes sound decisions based on available information.

  • Gathers, consolidates, and analytically processes information.

  • Demonstrates good knowledge of statistics, research methods, measurement concepts, and metrics.

  • Engages in preliminary analysis of collected data and reports findings to senior TMS Team Members / Team Leaders.

  • Analyzes data and reports findings and trends.

  • Possesses clear understanding of business objectives of WFM and supported region / stores.

  • Understands how effective people and organization management systems can differentiate WFM from the competition.

  • Understands the WFM product mix, supply base, and retail operations.

  • Works effectively with others, in groups, in cross-functional settings, and with diverse stakeholders internally and externally.

  • Displays strong levels of customer service

  • Ability to independently facilitate tm training on various TMS and related topics.

Education & Experience:

  • BA/BS degree and 2-4 years' relevant experience OR equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.

Work closely with HR management and business leaders to identify opportunities for improvement in policies and processes. Collaborate with HR team members to plan and execute initiatives and projects as assigned. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES * Coordinate human resource activities for assigned functional areas. * Manage assigned projects within Human Resources. Research and recommend process improvement opportunities utilizing working knowledge of current issues in the organization as a guide. Ensure solutions include relevant best practices. * Conduct exit interviews as needed for areas of concern. Compile data and draw conclusions based on the data to assist management in identifying opportunity areas. * Provide guidance to leadership in performance management situations. Assist in drafting and preparing documents related to performance management and employee relations issues and other human resources-managed activities. * Prepare and analyze reports, as necessary. Draw conclusions and summarize results for senior leadership on recommended changes. * Draft new/updated policies with involvement of other support partners. * Provide consultation on HR policies and practices to leaders and employees. Ensure compliance with all state and federal laws and regulations. * Investigate and resolve day-to-day employee relations problems, with some assistance from higher-level management. Provide guidance to employees and management on employee relations issues. * Assist with the execution of compliance with all applicable legislation including FMLA, ADA and FLSA. Understand and assist with attainment of EEO and Affirmative Action goals. * Assist with communication and follow-up of employee development process. Meet with management and staff on program objectives, procedures, and practices. * Facilitate the processing of employee status changes, ensuring accurate and timely input. * Assist with recruitment and onboarding of new employees. Coordinate and manage the selection and job offer process as well as the on-boarding process. * Participate in project teams as needed to drive HR process improvement in a variety of areas. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS * Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related area or equivalent combination of education and work experience. * HR experience in an organization with competency in employee relations, organization development, performance management, performance improvement, sourcing, recruiting, staffing, workforce planning, diversity planning and implementation, EEO/AAP, compensation, leadership development, retention, recognition and communication strategies. * Demonstrated organizational, project management and implementation skills. * Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills. * Demonstrated strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. * HR technical knowledge in legal compliance including state, local and federal employment laws. * Demonstrated relationship management and ability to collaborate within the department and cross-functionally. Demonstrated ability to work as team player. * Ability to work on multiple things and prioritize effectively. * Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite. * Occasional travel is required (approximately 10% of time). PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS * Three (3) or more years of HR experience. * SPHR or PHR Certification. * Familiarity with HRIS systems and applicant tracking systems. WORKING CONDITIONS This job operates in a professional office environment indoors. Routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines. PHYSICAL DEMANDS The position requires the ability to spend long hours sitting or standing while using office equipment and computers. Ability to perform repetitive tasks such as typing and keying. Occasional lifting, pushing/pulling, carrying 10 lbs of supplies and materials is required.
