Team Manager, Commissions & Debt Management

Summary

The Commissions and Debt Management teams are responsible for executing and supplementing the field compensation process while partnering with Distribution to provide peace of mind to National Life's selling customers. The Team Manager provides leadership to a team of Compensation Specialist and Accounting personnel; in addition the Team Manager will partner with Distribution. The Team Manager must be committed to promoting exceptional customer service, resolving complex escalations, coaching teammates, and building strong relationships to solve problems. This position will model urgency, quality, and a caring curiosity to aid the team in achieving goals and resolving Distribution concerns and requests.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a team in order to provide our distribution partners an efficient, productive, and satisfying experience

  • Provide leadership in establishing and sustaining focus on exemplary customer service

  • Responsible for the team's brand with selling customers, and serves as the primary point of contact for distribution leadership

  • Receiver and adjudicator of complex escalations and exception requests, excluding those decisions outside of pricing guidelines

  • Personnel management, including team and individual performance (goals, individual development plans, and general performance management) and individual workload management

  • Team management, including team workload and capacity management, and team performance

  • Responsible for collaboration across enterprise-wide teams

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting

  • 5 years of business experience in the life and annuity industry preferred

  • Understanding of distribution, accounting, and operations preferred

  • Effective at motivating and managing vision & purpose

  • Exceptional customer focus, and a keen appreciation for the needs and interests of our distribution partners

  • Caring curiosity, demonstrated in proactive & reactive solutioning, asking questions, learning this business, knowledge building connected to the outcome and the impact on others

  • Demonstrated strength in building effective teams and developing direct reports

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and effectiveness in a collaborative work environment; must be able to meet established deadlines

  • Commitment to continuous improvement is essential

  • Ability to successfully pass a background check that may include fingerprinting

The base compensation range represents the low and high end of the range for this position. Actual compensation will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to qualifications, skills, competencies, location, and experience. The range listed is just one component of our total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include an annual bonus, quarterly bonuses, commissions, and other long-term incentive compensation, depending on the position.
