Team Leaders at the Arc of Chemung Schuyler, oversee, lead and motivate Direct Support Professionals working within the Residential Facility to achieve it's goals effectively. If you are a capable leader with excellent communications skills, we would like to meet you!
GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
Utilizes team-based concepts in providing day-to-day coordination and supervision of assigned direct care staff. Ensures implementation of program plans by the direct care team.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Associate degree and 1 year working experience with the I/DD population and supervisory experience; OR
High School Diploma and 3 year's working experience with the I/DD population and supervisory experience.
Valid Driver's License that meets criteria of agency's insurance policy required.
REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILIITES:
Supervisory Experience preferred.
Excellent verbal/written communication skills
Intermediate computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and electronic record systems.
Ability to work as a team and independently.
Time Management Skills/Multi-Tasking Skills
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES
Provides direct supervision and assistance to direct care team members. Coordinates daily activities of direct care team in regard to implementation of participants' program plans, community activities, assistance with activities of daily living, and general housekeeping.
Provides hands-on training and assists and Identifies staff training needs for team members and makes recommendations to the immediate Supervisor.
Ensures program plans are carried out and progress recorded as per Agency policies and procedures.
Ensures staffing plan implementation for direct care team and maintains appropriate staffing levels at all times. Assigns relief coverage as necessary for assigned shift. May receive calls at home from staff members for schedule changes and call-ins and assists other residences.
Participates as a member of the Interdisciplinary Treatment Team and attends appropriate meetings as needed.
Works with team members to identify facility needs and makes recommendations to Resident Manager regarding purchase/budgeting of necessary items.
Is a role model for staff and individuals we support.
Observes and evaluates staff performance of their job and provides constructive feedback and recognition.
Helps facilitate problem solving to increase program efficiencies.
Ensures implementation of policies and procedures concerning program participants' funds and possessions.
Assists in the provision of direct care services as participants' needs indicate.
Ensures that written reports are completed as required by Resident Manager.
Performs other duties as assigned by Residential Manager.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS:
Must be able to tolerate stress associated with multiple, simultaneous demands.
Regularly required to talk, hear, stand, sit, walk, and frequently required to use hand and fingers.
Safely operate a motor vehicle and be able to maintain a valid driver's license.
Lifting: May occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
