Our Opening and Your Responsibilities
METTLER TOLEDO Thornton, a Strategic Business Unit within Mettler-Toledo is a leading producer of on-line liquid analytical measurement parameters such as conductivity, pH, dissolved oxygen, total organic carbon (TOC), microbial detection and ion speciation, especially for pure and ultrapure water applications in pharmaceutical/biotech, microelectronics and power generation markets.
The Team Leader leads and directs all aspects of assembly, test, and calibration for electrochemical and optical manufacturing. Highly engaged in daily problem solving for the manufacturing floor, supporting the production manager in Quality initiatives, resource shifting, statistics updates. Key support to production personnel to produce high quality products, on time, within established cost parameters. Facilitates a continuous improvement culture, focused on customer satisfaction.
Demonstrate lean thinking in all facets of the job. Work closely with the Production Manager and Quality Manager to drive continuous improvement activities throughout production and help ensure the production area is viewed as 'world class'.
Demands a high level of cleanliness and organization (5S) throughout the production work area at all times.
Act as a liaison between the production floor and Manufacturing Engineering department to clearly communicate process changes on the Production floor
Address technical and/or logistical shop floor issues to support operators and technicians to achieve highest performance
Ability to work a "flexible" schedule that may include some weekends (Saturdays)
What You Need to Succeed
10 years' experience in manufacturing environment with 3 years Group Leader or equivalent experience.
Demonstrates high level of energy to address technical and/or logistical shop floor issues to support operators and technician to achieve highest performance.
Ability to coordinate initiatives to resolve technical issues in collaboration with quality engineering.
Experience in leading a team, ability to motivate personal, strong communication skills, team orientation, facilitation, and conflict resolution.
Experience leading and supporting a diverse workforce.
Demonstrated ability to multitask, react in a fast paced work environment and complete assigned tasks with a real sense of urgency.
Ability to work effectively as a team player.
Strong understanding of good manufacturing principles.
Ability to work effectively with minimum supervision.
Self-motivated to accomplish tasks in a timely manner.
Proficient in Excel and Word, PowerPoint and other Microsoft products optional
