Our Opening and Your Responsibilities

METTLER TOLEDO Thornton, a Strategic Business Unit within Mettler-Toledo is a leading producer of on-line liquid analytical measurement parameters such as conductivity, pH, dissolved oxygen, total organic carbon (TOC), microbial detection and ion speciation, especially for pure and ultrapure water applications in pharmaceutical/biotech, microelectronics and power generation markets.

The Team Leader leads and directs all aspects of assembly, test, and calibration for electrochemical and optical manufacturing. Highly engaged in daily problem solving for the manufacturing floor, supporting the production manager in Quality initiatives, resource shifting, statistics updates. Key support to production personnel to produce high quality products, on time, within established cost parameters. Facilitates a continuous improvement culture, focused on customer satisfaction.


  • Demonstrate lean thinking in all facets of the job. Work closely with the Production Manager and Quality Manager to drive continuous improvement activities throughout production and help ensure the production area is viewed as 'world class'.

  • Demands a high level of cleanliness and organization (5S) throughout the production work area at all times.

  • Act as a liaison between the production floor and Manufacturing Engineering department to clearly communicate process changes on the Production floor

  • Address technical and/or logistical shop floor issues to support operators and technicians to achieve highest performance

  • Ability to work a "flexible" schedule that may include some weekends (Saturdays)

What You Need to Succeed


  • 10 years' experience in manufacturing environment with 3 years Group Leader or equivalent experience.

  • Demonstrates high level of energy to address technical and/or logistical shop floor issues to support operators and technician to achieve highest performance.

  • Ability to coordinate initiatives to resolve technical issues in collaboration with quality engineering.

  • Experience in leading a team, ability to motivate personal, strong communication skills, team orientation, facilitation, and conflict resolution.

  • Experience leading and supporting a diverse workforce.

  • Demonstrated ability to multitask, react in a fast paced work environment and complete assigned tasks with a real sense of urgency.

  • Ability to work effectively as a team player.

  • Strong understanding of good manufacturing principles.

  • Ability to work effectively with minimum supervision.

  • Self-motivated to accomplish tasks in a timely manner.

  • Proficient in Excel and Word, PowerPoint and other Microsoft products optional

Manually loading and unloading filters in a variety of equipment and transporting those filter throughout the process. Ensuring proper WIP management and daily throughput. Completing safety and process inspections to ensure clean safe efficient production. This position will be based in Billerica, MA. Shifts that will be available are weekend and over-night shifts (various schedules available). In this role you will * Verifies product is handled in a safe manner during processing. Takes corrective action when necessary to ensure product is consistent with established procedures and specifications. Escalates quality issues as appropriate. Ensures highest possible product quality and adherence to the Entegris quality system, ISO and/or other standards. Ensures all product is processed per procedure and safety protocols. specifications. * Safely performs tasks related to chemical cleaning processes. Follows strict process and safety protocols to ensure chemical processing is consistent and minimizes any exposure or cross contamination. * Performs various tasks related to documenting work performed , pass/fail testing , statistical data, batch tracability and other data collection. * Confirms all process tracking is thoroughly completed in a timely manner (i.e. Production Reports, Labels, Component Sheets, Rework Sheets, SAP Transactions etc.). This could be in written or computer data entry methods. * Participates in improvement activityies to influence customer satisfaction, waste elimination, growth, cost effectiveness and product/system quality. Promotes and implements use of continuous improvement tools to eliminate non-value activities. Participates actively in continuous improvement activities such as 6s, Kaizen events, etc. * Completes miscellaneous tasks as assigned in support of the larger organization and production goals. * Maintains a clean and safe work area. * Wears required Personal Protective Equipment. Performs duties in a safe manner and observes approved safety procedures. Communicates potential hazards immediately to supervisor. * May require use of different / increased levels of protective equipment depending on the specific chemical exposure tasks. Traits we believe make a strong candidate * High school diploma or equivalent. 1 year manufacturing experience preferred. * Ability to read and understand documented processes and procedures. * Strong attention to detail; ability to perform basic math computations and computer data entry. * Must be able communicate clearly both verbally and in written form. * Ability to use measuring devices and hand tools. * Ability to lift and move materials up to 30lbs. * Ability to work in chemical hoods, load and unload equipment, walk and stand during entire shift. * Ability to repetitively pinch and grasp hand tools, repetitively twist, bend and reach upward and handle all materials required in manufacturing, etc. * Ability to do all of the above while wearing protective clothing including full body suit, boots, gloves, face shield, safety glasses and gloves.
