Total Fiber Recovery of Chesapeake (TFRC) is a joint venture between Oregon-based Total Fiber Recovery, a subsidiary of Bulk Handling Systems, and the Swedish company CellMark Inc. This new facility will annually produce over 200,000 tons of recycled pulp from mixed paper (MP) and cardboard (OCC).
TFRC is seeking a Team Leader to join the team in Chesapeake, Virginia.
This supervisory position is responsible for the safety, quality, and productivity of the plant and employees at TFRC. In this role, you will oversee daily operations to meet production timeline and quality, and assist with staffing, developing, training, and leading a workforce capable of achieving production goals through performing established processes. You will also engage in continuous improvement activities and participate in work group implementation.

Be able to work the DuPont Schedule, which consists of rotating day and night 12 hours shifts, typically working 14 days out of 28, generally, with 2 weekends off per month. Ability to attend occasional meetings on off days. Startup period may require temporary schedule of working more hours and days a week
High school diploma or GED required, bachelor's degree in management, engineering, or related technical field preferred
Pulp and Paper operational experience is a plus. Any continuous process operational experience is also a plus
3 years' supervisory experience in a manufacturing setting highly preferred
Knowledge of lean manufacturing practices a plus
Knowledge of accounting software such as Syteline or any other ERP a plus
Some proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams) required
Ability to solve problems and prioritize daily tasks in a fast-paced environment and stay calm
Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks with strict deadlines
Ability to effectively communicate and implement management/business direction with shift crew members
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
Leadership to cultivate a culture of safety and accountability
Be a self-starter, take responsibility and get it done professionally though your team

Overseeing the shift operations to meet production goals, while ensuring employees follow all plant and job safety requirements and standard operating procedures
Motivating others to perform well, excel at their assigned responsibilities and exceed team goals
Supervising Operators, Millwright, E/I Technician, and Yard Jockey each shift
Coordinating with other Team Leaders to keep operation running smoothly and safely
Helping fill shift personnel vacancies for upcoming shifts
Ensuring department team members are trained and assisting peers throughout the plant in implementing improvement activities with specific focus on safety, quality, and productivity
Guaranteeing proper operation and management of processes and equipment to meet product specifications and environmental compliance requirements
Monitoring plant operations and directing the crew to meet quality, operating, process, and production targets/objectives. Engaging in problem solving to return the process/operation to target when deviations occur
Utilizing crew to monitor raw material and process yield
Fulfilling all record keeping requirements related to the day-to-day operations in a timely manner, including safety training documentation, disciplinary actions, employee development, and specific job-related training
Reviewing and approving timecards and PTO requests for employees
Promptly investigating safety, fire, and environmental incidents, including completing and submitting any investigation reports prior to the end of the shift
Acting as the shift incident commander for oil spills, fires, emergency response, evacuation alarms, and water and power outages
Being accountable for shift administration of mill lock out policies and procedures, confined space entry, hot work and fall arrest procedures
Working closely with other Team Leaders to coordinate mill activities to achieve business results
Being responsible for process improvement and problem solving to lower cost and improve quality
