Team Leader

Summary

Directly supervise and coordinate the activities of production and operating workers, such as inspectors, precision workers, machine setters and operators, assemblers, fabricators, and plant and system operators.

What You'll Do

Reviews Daily Production Schedule.

• Coordinates with the manager the order in which jobs will be completed.

• Check dashboard for orders shipping day of or day before ship. Always focus on completing those orders first. Goal is to maintain 3 days ahead of ship.

Familiar with barriers to production.

• Advises the department manager of all barriers to production. (Remakes on glass, recuts, mechanical issues, etc.)
• Works to remove all barriers to production.

Knows location/availability of metal.

• Verifies metal availability and location.

• Coordinates with the Processor to ensure an uninterrupted supply of material.

Assigns crew duties.

• Specifies which order to process.

• Delegates certain responsibilities

Maintains constant oversight and awareness of the production process.

• Maintains an up-to-the-hour log which clearly identifies the status of all units and reports back to manager on an hourly basis

• Advises and cross trains personnel using cross training schedule provided by dept. manager.

• Ensures inventory is maintained using the provided Kanban sheet.

• Prints product labels using Custom View.

• Verifies accuracy of NFRC label.

Verify the size, color, configuration, and condition of each unit produced.

• Uses check list for all completed product and attached with paperwork.

Verify and maintain 100% quality of product. Scan units as soon as they are completed. Personnel

• Reports personnel issues to the department manager.

• Leaving work early.

• Reporting late for work.

• Not following safety rules.

• Not following written instructions.

• Any behavior that disrupts the manufacturing process.

10. End Shift Cleaning Verification

• Workstations are clear of debris.

• All tools put away

• Trash dumped

• Saws area clear of debris and all extrusions have been placed back in correct locations.

11. End of day

• Update schedule with stage on the line

• Write down wet line totals and ensure all staged product is correct for next shift to process/build.

Who You Are

• Provide operational support services and sometimes act as first-line supervisor of a transactional operations area. Involves using existingsystems and protocols.

• Operate complex machines and systems, adjusting processes to optimize quality and productivity. Also responsible for generatingsolutions to complex inefficiencies.

• Contribute data and information to production plans. Run reports, check accuracy, and distribute information.

• Lead a team performing routine work; conduct employee training in equipment operations or work and safety procedures, or assignemployee training to experienced workers.

• Follow the organization's EHS policies, procedures and mandatory instructions; to identify and mitigate environmental risks and risks to the wellbeing of oneself and other in the workplace; instruct the team in a safe working methods; identify instances of risky behaviors within the team and take appropriate action, escalating serious issues as appropriate.

• Ensure work is completed to the required standards of productivity, quality and timeliness; support the quality function by working withinstrict quality standards.

• Provide instruction and informal advice to less experienced colleagues within the team to develop their skills.

• Develop knowledge and understanding of the organization's policies and procedures and of relevant regulatory codes and codes ofconduct to ensure own work adheres to those standards. Obtain authorization from a supervisor or manager for any exceptions frommandatory procedure.
