This position is responsible for the safe and effective maintenance and operation
of pharmaceutical manufacturing and packaging equipment . according to approved standard operating
procedures (SOPs) and within prescribed manufacturer's specifications.
Applies Good Manufacturing Principles in all areas of responsibility.
Demonstrates and promotes the company vision.
Maintain productivity and performance metrics within acceptable levels
Follow-up on the floor throughout the day to ensure timely completion of tasks
Organize and participate in daily stand up meetings
Manage the weekly schedules for PM/SOP'S
Identify and address any "off schedule" conditions
Communicate status of equipment when it is impacting operations
Escalate "off schedule" conditions that affect service, quality or production if unresolved
Minimize quantity of events and intervals associated with break-in work through training
and mechanical initiatives. Ensure all employees actions comply with GMP and SOPs.
Comply with all customer specific compliance issues.
Prioritize work in order to meet customer due dates. Initiate and
complete action items through regularly scheduled meetings with Production and
QA's to improve communication and workflow. Maintain and have employees focus on the
highest level of service with internal and external customers.
Act as a technical resource for your employees. Use PPI methodologies to improve processes.
Coach employees. Provide positive feedback daily providing well thought explanation with
regard to behavior and performance. Immediately confront behavior problems related to performance and
the code of conduct. Lead your group "by example". Always act as a role model. Explain to employees why certain decisions are necessary. Confront poor performance with improvement goals in mind. Conduct Performance reviews bi annually. Ensure a safe working environment. Inspect the shop & production floor activities daily. Address any safety issues immediately. Conducts all activities in a safe and efficient manner. Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs.
Basic Minimum Qualifications (BMQ):
To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Five years of food or pharmaceutical packaging experience. Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
Education/ Experience (BMQ):
Minimum AA degree or equivalent experience along with Packaging experience.
Certificates and/ or Licenses (BMQ): Not Required
This position has supervisory responsibility of first material handlers and shipping personnel.
Internal and External Contacts:
This position has internal contact with all production operation employees, and quality assurance. External contact is limited to vendors, client personnel observing
Ability and/or Skills:
Inventory management and or shipping and receiving experience preferred.
Day shift core hours, additional hours as required. Must be available for second shift as needed. Monday through Friday, 8 hours per day.
Some overtime and weekend work required.
Physical ability to lift up to 75 pounds. Dexterity and ability to assist with packaging activities. Allergies to specific pharmaceuticals may disqualify individuals from performing these duties.
