POSITION SUMMARY:

Leads, facilitates and oversees the work activities of groups of machine operators; supports both the machine operators and supervisors in daily activities. Assists in creating and promoting a positive and cohesive team environment, always leading by good example.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Coordinates and directs raw materials, work in process materials and manpower to facilitate manufacturing requirements and production schedules as issued by Sr. Production Scheduler/Planner.

  • Prepares department paperwork such as production or inventory transaction reports and other required paperwork.

  • Assures that all required materials, components and/or supplies in the quantities needed to meet the daily production requirements are available.

  • Capable of setting up machines as well as training others in the set up.

  • Maintains clean and safe work area actively practices 5S. Ensures that employees work areas are clean and safe.

  • Provides direction, support and drives accountability for all assigned personnel.

  • Suggests changes or modifications to equipment or processes to improve production efficiency, quality and/or operator safety.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proven leadership, organization and communication skills.

  • Mastery of all equipment and processes in your leadership area.

  • Ability to understand and communicate all safety operating procedures and to use all safety features of the equipment.

  • Ability to communicate in English.

  • Ability to use basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplying, dividing, fractions and decimals.

  • Ability to recognize and solve moderate to complex problems independently.

  • Good computer skills.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of 5 years manufacturing and trouble shooting experience

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Requires ability to walk, stand, carry materials, stoop, kneel, bend at waist, and climb ladders or equipment.
