ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Review, revise, and develop Snyder of Berlin EHS plans. Lead programs to ensure sites are in compliance with all EHS regulations and requirements.

Ensure day-to-day administration of plant safety rules/policies and procedures, Federal and State OSHA Compliance and enforcement, and other regulations. Provide technical expertise on all relevant EHS corporate and regulatory requirements and resolve any discrepancies, as necessary. Provide compliance specifications/recommendations to Engineering & Maintenance.

Ensures accurate and timely EHS recordkeeping and document management. Prepare, maintain, and submit all reports and records required by the Company and regulatory agencies accurately and timely. Lead and/or assist in emergency response activities.

Lead the development, review, and implementation of sites emergency programs (e.g., facilitate site level drills). Interface with regulatory and public sector EHS Agencies and authorities as appropriate. Oversee site industrial hygiene programs and operational EHS management. Prioritize hazards and risks across the sites, and ensure actions are taken to mitigate or eliminate risks.

Lead incident investigations for EHS and environmental incidents and participate in management review of all serious incidents. Lead, coordinate, and participate in EHS performance improvement initiatives. Lead, support, and guide facilities EHS committees.

Drive inclusion of prioritized EHS needs into the annual operation and capital budget development process with respective facility managers and corporate managers. Partner with corporate EHS leads to implement corporate EHS audit program requirements, ensure audit findings and recommendations are resolved, closed and documented according to corporate requirements. Lead the implementation and maintenance of EHS management systems in compliance with Pinnacle Foods Group LLC policies and standards.

Track, report, and analyze EHS performance and implement corrective action as necessary. Lead the development, review, and revision of EHS training programs; facilitate train-the-trainer sessions; direct computer-based training activities; train associates as appropriate on requirements and procedures for EHS compliance. Conduct regular EHS reviews with site leadership.

Lead the coordination and implementation of each sites EHS projects. Work with Site Engineering & Maintenance Resources to resolve issues identified during Loss Prevention/Risk Management inspections.

Imperative Safety Expectations:

Participate in all Corporate Safety Meetings and Conference Calls. Implement all Corporate Safety Initiatives and Programs.

Meet EHS Audit Expectations and close any gaps per aligned timeline. Insure all required safety training is completed on time at the plant and in the field. Implement plan to reduce on the road risk from delivery vehicles. Visit each distribution facility bimonthly.

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor of Science in EHS or related field, or equivalent experience, is preferred.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience managing plant safety programs.

  • Experience working in a food or consumer products manufacturing environment.

  • Demonstrated training skills and experience.

SKILLS/PROFICIENCIES:

  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and analytical skills.

  • Highly organized; able to manage multiple projects and consistently meet deadlines.

  • Comfortable interacting with all levels of employees.

  • Creative/analytical problem solving skills

  • Hands on leadership style.

  • Dedication to achievement of results.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Power Point and Excel.

  • Excellent project management and prioritization skills.

  • Ability to react to situations with strong sense of urgency.
