SUMMARY:

Warner Electric is looking for our next Team Leader to lead production cells for our 1st Shift (6:35am-3:05pm) operations. Our Team Leaders have a direct impact on our safety, culture, work place organization, internal and external quality, on-time delivery, productivity and inventory.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be team oriented, understand the proper use of common tools and measuring devices including but not limited to test fixtures, calipers, gages, etc., have the ability to build complex assemblies and must have the ability and willingness to train others.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Lead all activities relating to production performance. Coordinate activities of production personnel and guide our people in their development

  • Continually improve safety record with a proactive approach to physical safety issues and employee safety behavior. Maintain and improve housekeeping in all areas

  • Collaborate, develop, implement, and maintain improvement initiatives and Lean manufacturing processes along with the ability to read and follow process instructions

  • Read and follow process instructions, use basic hand tools, read and interpret blueprints and drawings and lifting devices like a hoist or crane

  • Set up and operate various press and other manufacturing equipment in order to produce final products along with a willingness to learn multiple roles and skills

  • Performs standard work, quality inspections and uses process controls methods to complete the manufacturing process

  • Coordinate and actively support our local Warner Electric team, Altra business unit and corporate management initiatives

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE CREDENTIALS:

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • Previous leadership and manufacturing experience

  • Working knowledge of lean manufacturing, TPS, 6 Sigma, or similar improvement methods

  • Post-secondary education preferred

VIEW JOBS 12/2/2021 12:00:00 AM 2022-03-02T00:00 Job Description The purpose of the Quality Associate is to test, calibrate, and maintain control of measuring/indicating/inspection instruments, devices, and machines used in the plant to ensure instruments are operating within the specified tolerance. Other duties may also include backfilling the Quality Associate position as needed, and special projects such as capability studies, process studies, and kaizen participation. The Calibration and Quality Associate will also be responsible for performing internal ISO quality system audits as assigned. Further duties include testing and inspecting products at various stages of the production process (incoming inspection of products through finished goods). The success of the person in this role is vital to the continuing improvement efforts in the area(s), as well as the success of Warner Electric to meet or exceed customer expectations. Compiles and evaluates statistical data to determine and maintain quality and reliability of products by performing the following duties. ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES: Duties include but are not limited to: * Calibrate measurement devices such as micrometers, calipers, and dial indicators, as well as verifying that various hard gaging is within acceptable dimensional tolerances. * Responsible for scheduling and facilitating the inspection of all electrical testing equipment, as well as other outsourced calibration activities. * Responsible for repair, purchasing, and disposal of gages while maintaining current and accurate documentation of those schedules and results. * Ensure that all gage calibration is performed per the calibration schedule and recorded. * Responsible for reporting on the status of the calibration program during ISO and internal audits. * Schedule, organize, and report all measurement systems analysis studies when requested by customers, Quality Engineers, and Manufacturing Engineers. * Inspect, test, or measure materials, products, installations, or work for conformance to specifications. * Measure dimensions of products to verify conformance to specifications, using measuring instruments such as steel rules, calipers, gauges, micrometers, CMM's, etc. * Read blueprints, data, manuals, or other materials to determine specifications, inspection and testing procedures, adjustment methods, certification processes, formulas, or measuring instruments as required. * Record inspection or test data, such as weights, temperatures, grades, or moisture content, and quantities inspected or graded. * May be required to spend limited time on an alternate shift(s) for training and understanding of daily priorities. * Will assume lead role for their area/shift in addressing any quality concerns or defects that may develop throughout the shift. * Conduct training sessions with the associates to raise awareness and resolve quality issues. * May assist and govern the training of all new associates to ensure consistency and transferred understanding. Training will include measurement methods, gage use and care, understanding the first piece inspection process, and completing all necessary paperwork. * Will lead by example and provide coaching to all associates as needed to ensure quality products are produced. Examples include, but are not limited to, safe work practices, time management, adherence to the plant work rules, and quality processes. * Interface with the previous and/or subsequent shift Quality Associates, Supervisor, or Team Leader(s) to pass on relevant information. * Subject to standard overtime scheduling and rotation. * Other duties as assigned. PHYSICAL DEMANDS and WORK ENVIRONMENT: * Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally, up to 25 pounds frequently to constantly. * Must be able to constantly stand or sit for long periods of time as necessary in the work area.
