Summary

The Safety Team Lead will be responsible for working with the safety team to ensure efficient and effective support for the operations and business units of DSV. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with daily administrative tasks, coordinating team projects, developing and implementing policies and procedures, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversee and coordinate daily administrative tasks, such as data entry, filing, document management, and other related tasks.

  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to improve efficiency, productivity, and compliance with regulatory requirements.

  • Manage and maintain accurate records and data related to administrative tasks and projects.

  • Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to ensure that administrative tasks and projects are aligned with the company's goals and objectives.

  • Prepare reports and presentations for management as required.

  • Monitor and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.

  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and develop and implement solutions to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of administrative tasks and processes. Provide, document and log Safety Trainings: the DSV Solutions New Hire Employee Safety Checklist and Temporary Employee New Hire Employee Checklist, and Training Attendance Record.

  • Assist and coordinate specific external/internal required safety or equipment trainings.

  • Maintain the North America Security Standards at our facilities.

  • Completing safety inspections and safety walks.

  • Assist in completing the yearly required safety drills.

  • Assist in meeting OSHA required standards.

  • Complete Observational Safety Audits

  • Coordinate the purchase or scheduling maintenance of safety equipment/ items.

  • Assist with the Corrective Actions/Response associated with Safety Walks/Inspections, Site Risk Assessments, and the Safety Committee.

Educational background / Work experience

  • At least 5 years of experience in a similar role in the transportation and logistics industry.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong leadership and management skills.

  • Excellent organizational, planning, and time management skills.

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

  • Knowledge of relevant regulations and standards in the transportation and logistics industry.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional certifications such as APICS, CSCP, or other relevant certifications.

Language skills

  • Fluent in English (oral and written)

Computer Literacy

  • Proficiency in using various computer software applications, including Microsoft Office Suite, ERP systems, and other relevant software programs.

For this position, the expected base pay is: $30.00 - $40.75 / Hourly. Actual base compensation will be determined based on various factors including job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations.
