The Performance & Fuel Economy Simulation Tool Development Team Lead is responsible for leading development of simulation tools for fuel economy, acceleration performance, capability (e.g. trailer tow) and drivability using computer modeling techniques. The Team Lead is also responsible for leading a team of engineers working on the GOFAST tool. The Team Lead is responsible for simulation tool specification, architecture, development and validation. This includes modeling of conventional powertrains as well as xEV and other alternative technologies. In addition, the successful candidate works with counterparts across other regions to plan and execute the tool development to meet the global needs of FCA.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Applied Physics, Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Aerospace, Industrial, or Computer Engineering, or related Engineering field from an ABET accredited university

  • 7 years of engineering experience

  • Powertrain experience including knowledge of powertrain systems, controls, calibration, and drivability

  • Experience creating, correlating and using virtual models to simulate performance, fuel economy, drivability and capability

  • Familiarity with performance, fuel economy, drivability and capability testing

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong Matlab and Excel skills

  • Experience with electrified powertrains and modeling of electrified powertrains

  • Familiarity with EPA fuel economy regulations and procedures

  • Experience in evaluation of vehicle capability and drivability

  • Knowledge of advanced powertrain technology
