These positions will lead the work flow for a team that will be meeting production schedules and driving lean initiatives
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Create and maintain a culture where workplace safety is a part of everything we do. Provide the safest possible workplace to our employees by modeling and following all company safety policies, reporting any incidents or unsafe conditions immediately to SILFEX management.
Conduct periodic safety audits to proactively identify and resolve potential safety issues. Ensure follow-up and closure of action items generated.
Develop and maintain a working knowledge of the SILFEX Quality Management System, SILFEX Manufacturing System (SMS) and all relevant Quality and Operating Procedures and apply properly as appropriate.
Develop and maintain proficiency across all technologies employed in the functional area.
Lead daily production activities and team meetings. Organize, prioritize and delegate workload including assigning jobs to meet daily output targets.
Perform direct labor tasks as needed to support achievement of team's performance targets.
Meet with cross shift counterparts, team employees, Operations Managers/Supervisors on a daily basis at start and end of shift (effective communication skills) to communicate opportunities, issues, status of projects, and product flow, to ensure smooth transition of production activities across shifts.
Serve as first response decision maker for quality, throughput, and scheduling issues.
Keep daily metrics up-to-date and use to drive improvements.Troubleshoot and escalate issues that prevent the team from achieving goals/objectives as required to resolve issues beyond control of the team employees.
Participate in gemba walks and metric review meetings. Engage team employees to maximize benefit of stand up meetings.
Develop and maintain a working knowledge of Lean concepts and tools. Initiate, implement, and monitor standardized work compliance, specifications and characteristics of department process to insure that quality is built into each of the production processes. Drive continuous improvement actions.
Eliminate scrap and prevent reoccurrence by working proactively to drive resolution on all quality issues.
Train and develop other team members on work flow processes. Demonstrate flexibility in applying vocational and technical skill in ways that support achievement of the team's performance targets.
Encourage good performance, and motivate employees using appropriate feedback methods, including teaching, training, coaching and counseling. Be an effective listener to fully understand the needs of the team.Provide feedback to supervisor on employee performance.
Carry out special projects and all other duties that may be assigned from time to time.
