Team Lead - Data Science, Atlanta, GA

Responsibilities include

Lead and mentor junior analysts and make them grow in the Data Science organization; Being a subject matter expert guide them in applying emerging machine learning practices and technologies to improve productivity and efficiency in the travel distribution processes; Technically lead the team by reviewing their code and ensure quality delivery adopting state-of-the art machine learning and agile development practices.

Lead, architect, and implement end-to-end machine learning algorithms for batch and real-time processing; Fine-tune and scale machine learning code, work with data scientists and data engineers to productionize machine learning solutions.

Lead the validation of machine learning algorithms by running large scale statistical analyses collaborating with data scientists; Review results produced by the algorithms with various data science and engineering teams within Travelport; Identify metrics and monitor machine learning algorithms for accuracy and performance by calibrating algorithms to suit the data; Analyze various data sets in the Machine Learning (ML) platform, design, and report on A/B tests for new and modified ML algorithms.

Help junior machine learning analysts learn travel related data. The candidate should have very good understanding of data related to travel management systems, Global Distribution Systems (GDS), New Distribution Channel (NDC) and should be able to lead a team of data analysts build scalable algorithms.

Lead and collaborate with cross functional teams in understanding the data that feed into the Travelport Machine Learning (ML) platform from various Travelport systems for machine learning development.

Requirements/Qualifications

Must have a Master's degree in Operations Research or related discipline plus 3 years of experience in the job offered or in any occupation which includes the required experience and skills. Experience must include:

3 years of experience analyzing travel distribution data and building complex machine learning algorithms;

3 years of experience in understanding the data related to travel distribution processes and delivering on projects using agile development practices;

3 years of experience in Python, Big Data, and other data science related technologies;

3 years of experience in machine learning model implementation and large scale data analysis using big data technologies such as Spark, Kafka, Hadoop, GPUs; and

2 years of experience in understanding the requirements for building data science products and working with data science and other cross-functional teams to deploy the products in production.

JOB LOCATION: This is a hybrid role.

Company's HQ is located in Atlanta, GA. Candidate may work from home office located within a normal commuting distance as necessary.

Salary Target/Range: $110,469 to $120,000
