POSITION SUMMARY:

The Continuous Improvement Team Lead is responsible for facilitating the continuous improvement efforts of BrassCraft by utilizing LEAN manufacturing and six sigma tools. The CI Lead will help to establish our culture of continuous improvement by promoting the use of tools like root cause analysis and identifying opportunities to improve productivity, reduce wastes, and unnecessary downtime/activities.

PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Make safety your number one priority by leading by example, addressing unsafe conditions & behaviors, and supporting safety improvement initiatives.

• Lead or participate in continuous improvement events (Kaizen, 5S events, Gemba, etc.)

• Collect and analyze data (OEE performance, daily management KPIs, etc.); compile and present data in the most effective manners.

• Provide training on the Masco Operating System (MOS)

• Make recommendations for and support improvements in all areas of the plant, including:

• Safety: ergonomic evaluations, man machine interfaces, incident/accident investigations

• Operations: material flow, elimination of waste and downtime, daily management

• Quality: standard work instructions, training plans

• Engagement: operator buy-in to improvements, classroom and on-the-job training

• Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Demonstrated ability to accurately diagnose a problem, assess options and make recommendations.

• Ability to work cooperatively and lead others in improvement activities.

• Ability to organize and complete on time all project tasks, goals, timelines.

• Intermediate Computer Skills, including, MS Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)

• Ability to provide positive coaching and feedback.

• Demonstrates functional level proficiency in performing every production job within assigned area of responsibility in line with documented Job Instruction Breakdown/Standard Work instructions.

• Lean Six Sigma training.

COMPETENCIES:

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

• Ability to address and resolve internal conflicts.

• Strong understanding of analytical and lean tools

• Ability to see the positive in demanding situations.

• Basic Mathematical and Statistical Abilities
