Job Summary

The Concessions Area Supervisor is responsible for supervising staff at concessions stands and carts at Bojangles' Coliseum ensuring that all operations are carried out successfully.

Essential Job Duties

  • Follows standard inventory controls and procedures.

  • Ensures concession stand procedures are being met at assigned locations.

  • Ensures concession stand sheets are accurate and completed each event.

  • Establishes and maintains cooperative working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.

  • Provides customer service guidelines to event staff.

  • Work with all staff in a friendly and professional manner.

  • Train staff to provide high quality customer service.

  • Communicate via two-way radio.

  • Maintain professional attire, image and demeanor at all times.

Scope of Responsibility

  • This job has no budgetary responsibilities.

Supervisory Responsibility

  • Supervises concession stand and cart leads during events.

  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.

  • Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements

  • Ability to understand procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite; Food Service equipment; and Two-way radio.

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and three to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Three years of customer service experience.

Physical Demands

  • The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 40 pounds.

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to handle or feel and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand and walk.

Work Environment

  • The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

Travel Required

  • This job has no travel requirements.

Job Summary The Ticket Taker Supervisor is responsible for the smooth flow of patrons entering ticketed or non-ticketed events. This is whether ticket takers are using Ticketmaster scanners or counting patrons. At all times the number of guests entering the venue should be accounted for. Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to): * Takes direction from the Event Staff Coordinator/Supervisor & Management with respect to event procedures and handling problems. * Conducts inspection of the venue's entrances for cleanliness and any obstructions. * Ensures scanners or counters are operating properly. * Supervises ticket takers under the direction of the Event Services Coordinator/Supervisor and Management (Event Manager and Manager on Duty). * Alerts the Ticket Office staff of any issues/problems that arise they cannot resolve, not limited to scanners or repeated ticket issues. * Ensures staff knows seating locations. * Works closely with FOH ushers, Box Office, and Event Services Supervisors to resolve any ticketing issues. * Maintains a presence throughout the lobby. * Assists in clearing guests from the building by gently directing them to exits * Provides quality customer service to patrons. * Provides guest assistance. * Scan or tear tickets as required by event * Allows or disallows access based on credentials. * Informs patrons of when children over a certain age require a ticket. * Helps guests locate their assigned seats and reporting any ticketing problems to a supervisor. * Provide guests with directions or other venue information. * Act upon all comments/complaints in a prompt and friendly manner. * Notifies guests when food, beverages, videotaping and cameras are not allowed in the venue. * Will be able to work in all areas of the venue which may require standing for long periods of time, climbing stairs during the event while using a flashlight to guide customers. * Must be able to work flexible hours to include evenings, weekends, and holidays with a minimum availability of 3 events per month during the season. * May perform other duties as required. Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities * Excellent interpersonal and oral communication skills * Highly enthusiastic, positive minded and detail oriented * Excellent listening skills and the ability to ask probing questions, understand concerns, and overcome objections * Strong work ethic and self-starter, able to effectively manage multiple priorities and adapt to change within a fast-paced business environment * Must possess a professional and friendly attitude and be able to quickly develop a rapport with customers at the theater * Ability to work independently & as part of a team * Previous ticket taker experience a plus, but not required. * Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. * Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. * Observe and proactively initiate the customer experience with a personalized greeting and a smile. Engage the customer with thoughtful questions and active listening. Take ownership and offer a complete solution to the customer's needs. Ensure all customer needs have been met, and offer an authentic closing with appreciation. * Must be able to work a flexible schedule which would consist of nights, weekends, and/or potentially holidays.
