The School of Arts and Sciences at West Virginia University Institute of Technology invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure track Teaching Instructor of English. We are seeking an outstanding candidate to complement the faculty in a multidisciplinary unit.
Responsibilities include teaching fifteen undergraduate hours per semester to include primarily first-year composition. Teaching modalities may include in-person, on-line, or both, as assigned.
A successful candidate will actively contribute to departmental initiatives and to the intellectual and cultural life of the university. Additional responsibilities include committee assignments, participation in professional development, attending regularly scheduled faculty and department meetings, responsibilities and activities to promote student retention and persistence, and other duties associated with the faculty position.
An M.A. in English is required; Ph.D. preferred. The degree must be conferred by August 2024.
Candidates must also exhibit evidence of effective teaching experience in composition at the college level. Experience with online instructional technologies is desirable.
