The C. Eugene Bennett Department of Chemistry at West Virginia University invites applications for a Teaching Assistant Professor position beginning in August 2020.
The primary responsibility is teaching large-lecture sections of introductory chemistry and organic chemistry and supervising the associated laboratory sections. The position also requires service to the department, college, and university. This is a 9-month, full-time, non-tenure track position with full benefits and the opportunity for promotion. Teaching Assistant Professor appointments have renewable terms of up to three years, with no limit on the number of terms.

The position requires a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree in chemistry or a related field from an accredited institution, ability for excellent teaching in undergraduate courses in general chemistry and organic chemistry, a commitment to student-centered learning, ability in course and laboratory development, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and a willingness to use instructional technologies.
