Job Description
LEHIGH UNIVERSITY. The College of Education at Lehigh University invites applications for a Teaching Assistant Professor to lead the development of a Learning Sciences undergraduate minor as well as teach courses and advise students within this program. The position begins Fall 2024.
Candidates should possess an earned doctoral degree (or be in candidacy with degree expected no later than the date of hire) in Learning Sciences, Cognitive Psychology, Cognitive Science, Educational Psychology, or related fields and have experience teaching higher education courses.
The College of Education currently provides training at the graduate-only level in a variety of disciplines, including counseling psychology, educational leadership, instructional technology, school psychology, and teacher education. In an effort to meet the growing interests in education of undergraduate students from a variety of disciplinary backgrounds, the College of Education is launching a new interdisciplinary Learning Sciences minor that will be of relevance and interest to undergraduate students in the College of Arts & Sciences, College of Business, College of Health, and P.C.
Rossin College of Engineering and Applied Sciences. The successful candidate will be expected to lead departmental efforts in designing this Learning Sciences minor. Furthermore, the successful candidate will teach courses within this program and offer high-quality academic advising.
Additional opportunities for teaching in the College of Education at the graduate level may be available. Also, the successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the university's commitment to providing an inclusive and equitable community.
The position is renewable and promotable based upon performance and continuing need of the Department, the College, and the University, and affords voting privileges and eligibility to serve on Department, College, and University committees, ensuring lasting institutional educational impact.
