Teaching Assistant- Doctor Of Acupuncture Completion Track Program

Position: Part-time, non-exempt

Time: 10-20 hours a week, virtual and asynchronous

Position Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Teaching Assistant to join our team to assist the instructors in the Doctor of Acupuncture Completion Track Program. The Doctor of Acupuncture Completion Track Program is virtual and asynchronous. Teaching Assistants will be working solely in an on-line environment. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting instructors and students in mastering skills associated with advanced leadership, research, and Western diagnostics.

Qualifications:

Must hold a doctorate degree in acupuncture or acupuncture/East Asian Medicine (DAc, DAOM, etc.) and must be a licensed acupuncturist (LAc, NCCAOM Diplomate). Previous graduate-level teaching experience is preferred. Should have experience with Microsoft Office/Google applications; experience with email and Internet communications.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Education: A minimum of a doctoral degree in acupuncture or Traditional Chinese medicine is required.

• Practical Experience: Prior experience in teaching or assisting in graduate-level Traditional Chinese medicine courses.

• Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively explain complex concepts and techniques to students with varying levels of understanding.

• Patient and Supportive: Ability to provide patient guidance and support to students as they develop doctoral-level competencies.

• Organizational Skills: Strong organizational and time management skills to assist in preparing instructional materials, coordinating activities, and managing student records.

• Interpersonal Skills: Ability to work collaboratively with the instructor, students, and other teaching assistants to create a positive and productive learning environment.

• Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail to ensure prompt communication in virtual and asynchronous environments.

• Professionalism: Maintain a professional and ethical demeanor while interacting with students, colleagues, and staff members.

• Continuous Learning: A commitment to ongoing professional development and staying up-to-date with advancements in the field of acupuncture.

Responsibilities:

Including but not limited to:

• Assuring the provision of high-quality discussions, learning, and communication.

• Grading course materials such as discussion boards, papers, quizzes, and tests.

• Assisting students with navigating virtual and asynchronous learning environments.
