We invite dedicated individuals to step into this role, serving as the essential link between teachers and students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist lead teachers in lesson plan execution, ensuring materials and resources are ready and available for each session.
- Provide individualized attention to students who may need extra help, understanding their unique challenges and academic needs.
- Monitor classroom activities and behavior, stepping in to guide or redirect as necessary to maintain a conducive learning environment.
- Assist in grading assignments, maintaining records, and tracking student progress under the teacher's guidance.
- Facilitate small group sessions or tutoring as directed by the lead teacher.
- Maintain classroom cleanliness, organization, and ensure all equipment is in proper working order.
- Act as a mediator between students and teachers, understanding concerns and communicating them effectively.
- Participate in training and development sessions to enhance skills and understand the specific needs of refugee children.
- Support during Physical Education activities, ensuring safety and engagement of all students.
Requirements
- Associate's degree or higher in Education or a related field, or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
- Previous experience as a Teacher's Aide or in an educational support role is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with children from diverse backgrounds.
- Sensitivity to the unique challenges and trauma faced by refugee children.
- Ability to work collaboratively with lead teachers, understanding and executing directives efficiently.
- Bilingual proficiency, especially in Spanish, is an advantage.
