Hours: Full-time 40 hours/weekly

As a Teacher Aide, you will be primarily responsible for providing daily educational services (including ESL support) to Spanish-speaking youth who have recently arrived in the United States and are currently in short-term foster care.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
High School Diploma or equivalent;
Prior work experience in a school setting serving in a similar capacity;
Bachelor's level degree in Education, or equivalent field of study from an accredited college, strongly preferred;
Prior work experience with refugee or minority families and demonstrated cross-cultural sensitivity, preferred;
Must be CPR, First Aid, and AEC certified upon hire or within 60 days of hire;
Bi-lingual in one or more of the following languages with English: Spanish
Demonstrated ability to teach students English and all other basic educational topics;
Must be flexible and creative in a diverse work setting;
Excellent attention to detail and highly organized;
Highly motivated and self-managed;
Excellent verbal and written communication, and interpersonal skills;
Computer and typing skills sufficient to perform essential job functions;
Active motor vehicle license and a reliable automobile with adequate insurance coverage; must be at least 21 years of age to operate a vehicle on behalf of the agency.
Pass a criminal history screen, including state and local child protection agency registries;
Subscription to and integration of the agency Statement of Faith, Mission Statement, and Cultural Diversity Commitment.
