Primary Purpose: To support the district's instructional programs and ensure academic improvement and student success.

The focus of the position is on instructional interventions for struggling students and teacher support. Qualifications: Education/Certification Bachelor's Degree (Master's Degree preferred) Valid Texas teaching certificate for appropriate grade level and content taught Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject area assigned ESL certification required within seven months of employment for elementary and secondary core content areas; Math, Science, Social Studies, English, and Special Education. CDL obtained within 18 months of employment for coaches, ag teachers, and band directors.

Special Knowledge/Skills Knowledge of curriculum design and implementation Knowledge of state curriculum and assessments Understanding of student-centered mathematics practices Ability to interpret data and evaluate instruction programs Ability to develop and deliver training to adult learners Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills Experience Three years of experience as a math classroom teacher Major Responsibilities and Duties: 1. Work with individual students and student groups to provide effective, research-based interventions to improve student learning. 2. Create classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate for the physical, social, and emotional development of students. 3.

Plan and use appropriate instructional and learning strategies, activities, materials, and equipment that reflect the concrete-representational-abstract continuum of building conceptual knowledge that leads to procedural fluency. 4. Facilitate campus screening and assist with all other state and local assessments as needed. 5. Gather, compile, and disaggregate data; and link that data to student learning and instruction. 6.

Review student data with classroom teachers and assist in determining appropriate tiered intervention. 7. Communicate with parents of children regarding academic level and rate of progress. 8. Assist classroom teachers in determining and implementing appropriate tiered intervention. 9.

Serve as a member of the campus Student Success Team (SST). 10. Support classroom instruction through modeling and mentoring. 11. Work with instructional specialists and administrators as a collaborative team to strengthen the instructional program and of the school and district. 12.

Work with instructional specialist in developing and implementing effective intervention programs. 13. Assist classroom teachers and instructional specialist in the delivery of district-wide instructional initiatives. 14. Be a positive role model for students and support the mission of school district. 15.

Assist in selection of books, equipment, and other instructional materials as necessary. 16. Maintain a professional relationship with colleagues, students, parents, and community members. 17. Use effective communication skills to present information accurately and clearly. 18.

Participate in professional development to improve job-related skills. 19. Keep informed of and comply with state, district, and school regulations and policies for classroom teachers. 20. Perform other duties as assigned.

Work days: 187 FISD pays $315 a month towards TRS Health Insurance You can earn up to 5 local and 5 state days if you start at beginning of school year.
