Requirements / Qualifications
Education and Experience:
Bachelor of Arts Degree from an accredited college or university
California Teaching Credential authorizing performance of service with programs for the visually impaired
Possess specialized techniques and skills pertinent to working with the visually impaired, such as braille reading and writing, training in use of various technological devices and optical aids
Background and/or certification in orientation and mobility
Knowledge of technology for Braille, large print and talking software
Copy of Transcript
Credential Copy (California Teaching Credential authorizing performance of service with programs for the visually impaired)
Letter of Introduction
Letter(s) of Recommendation (3 Letters Required)
Resume
Comments and Other Information
Desirable Qualifications:
Experience working with children with visual impairments age birth through 21 years of age
Experience working with children with severe disabilities
Teaching experience in general education programs, elementary or secondary
Ability to use Sign Language
Bilingual *Position will be for the 24-25 academic year
