St. Paul Academy and Summit School seeks candidates for the position of Upper School Math teacher. This is a one-semester replacement position that will begin on January 19, 2021.
The position consists of two sections of Advanced Probability and Statistics and two sections of Geometry. A bachelors degree in math or math education is required, and a masters degree is preferred.
Ideally, candidates will have experience teaching high school mathematics and with adolescents more generally. The most successful candidates will approach their role as an advisor with a drive to better understand the emotional needs of their students and support a program where self-reflection, empathy, and flexibility are the goals. Excellent interpersonal skills, including collaboration and communication with both colleagues and students, is required. Candidates should support the mission of SPA, the vision of the Upper School, and be eager to join a professional learning community where openness to growth is the norm.
