Job Title: Culinary Arts Instructor

Overview: We are seeking a culinary arts instructor to educate and inspire students in the art and science of culinary techniques, food preparation, nutrition, and kitchen management. We are looking for a candidate who will create a dynamic learning environment that fosters creativity, critical thinking, and practical skills development. This role is instrumental in preparing students for careers in the culinary industry or further education in culinary arts.

Qualifications:

• Associate's degree or higher from a GaPSC-accepted institution in a field related

to Culinary Arts

• Proven experience working in the culinary industry, with a strong foundation in

cooking techniques, food preparation, and kitchen management.

• Previous teaching experience, preferably in a high school or career/technical

setting.

• Valid teaching certificate, preferably with a culinary arts endorsement.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and

motivate students from diverse backgrounds.

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

• Passion for culinary arts education and a commitment to fostering student

success.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design engaging and comprehensive lesson plans aligned with curriculum

standards, incorporating both theoretical knowledge and practical culinary skills.

• Develop instructional materials, resources, and assessments to support student

learning objectives.

• Deliver engaging and interactive lessons that cover various aspects of culinary

arts, including cooking techniques, food safety, nutrition, menu planning, and

kitchen management.

• Demonstrate culinary skills and techniques, providing hands-on instruction and

guidance to students in kitchen labs.

• Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment where all students feel

motivated to participate and explore their culinary interests.

• Supervise and oversee students during cooking labs, ensuring adherence to

safety protocols and proper food handling procedures.

• Provide individualized feedback and support to students to help them improve

their culinary skills and techniques.

• Stay updated on current trends, developments, and best practices in the culinary

industry, incorporating relevant information into lesson plans and activities.

• Establish connections with local restaurants, chefs, and culinary professionals to

provide students with exposure to real-world culinary experiences and career

opportunities.

• Assess student performance through a variety of methods, including practical

demonstrations, written assignments, projects, and culinary competitions.

• Provide constructive feedback to students on their culinary work, helping them

set goals and develop action plans for improvement.

• Maintain accurate records of student progress and achievements, communicating

with parents/guardians as needed.

• Participate in ongoing professional development activities, such as workshops,

conferences, and culinary training programs, to enhance your own culinary skills

and teaching methodologies.

Salary Range: Salary and work year to be established by the Board.
