Teacher

Lakeview Academy is seeking an enthusiastic, energetic, and multi-talented choral teacher who is eager to join an award-winning fine arts program.

Position Description:

• Part-Time

• Lower, Middle, and Upper School Position

• Duties begin August 2024

• Position is based on ten-month contract

Lakeview Academy is the reigning 2012-2024 GISA Class AAA Literary Team Region Champion and the 2023 GISA Class AAA Literary Team State Champion. The ideal candidate will strive to establish the rigor and standards to continue and further this legacy. An ideal candidate will be an inspired musician/teacher who possesses strong classroom management skills combined with an expertise in conducting, vocal pedagogy, music theory, sound production, and accompaniment. Solid piano skills, a relevant degree in music, and experience teaching in a choral program are strongly preferred.

Education and Experience:

• Experience with Choral Instruction

• Experience with Sound Production

• Degree in Music, Music Education or Related Field

o Teaching Certificate Preferred

• Excellent verbal and written communication

Duties and Responsibilities (but not limited to):

• Teach Lower and Upper School Music Classes

• Teach/coordinate Middle School Choral Ensembles

• Assist in the musical coordination of three school-wide events

• Piano Accompaniment

• Additional hours for rehearsals after the school day
