Under the direction of the principal, provides directed learning experiences in the cognitive, psychomotor, and affective domains, daily living skills and vocational training for physically and multi-handicapped students ages 3 to 22 years; oversees support services to students; supervises instructional aides and volunteers in the classroom; and performs other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS Required: 1. Appropriate valid California teaching credentials authorizing service to severely handicapped orthopedically and multi-handicapped students OR a valid California Special Education teaching credential (severely handicapped) AND a willingness to obtain the Orthopedic Impairment authorization. 2. A valid California driver's license. Financial assistance may be provided by SLOCOE for an added authorization to an existing Education Specialist credential. .

Official transcripts will be requested upon job offer for salary placement.

SLOCOE does not participate in Social Security or SDI (State Disability Insurance) but contributes to STRS (State Teachers Retirement System). Benefits include medical, dental, vision and paid sick/personal leave.
