Essential Functions and Objectives:

The Teacher on Special Assignment is a licensed Teacher serving as directed in a special assignment. Consults with school administrators, and school staff members to assist schools regarding programs. May provide staff development to achieve district and departmental goals.


Knowledge, Experience, Other

Qualifications:

Must possess a current Colorado Teacher or Special Service Provider license depending on the assignment. A minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible related work experience. Experience with training in assessment, consultation, literacy, math, and staff development. Experience in leadership role in collaborative settings. Experience working with diverse families, community groups, and staff.

Elementary Education Job Description:

  • Teaches diverse elementary school students grade level standards based curriculum in Reading, Writing, Math, Science, Social Studies and Personal Development.

ELA-E Job Description:

  • Provides instruction to linguistically diverse students in English only.

Strong candidates will be skilled in leadership, management, faculty development, scholarship, and teaching. The University is particularly interested in applicants who have experience working with students from diverse backgrounds and a demonstrated commitment to improving access to higher education for under-represented groups. Management of Faculty * Provides recommendations to the Dean for hiring, retention, tenure, promotion, and post-tenure review; reassigned work; sabbatical leaves; and other leaves of absence. * Responds to student concerns and works with students, faculty, staff, and other University offices to resolve concerns, conflicts, and disputes. * Provides effective management and direction to part-time and full-time faculty, support staff, and student workers. * Assigns faculty teaching duties. * Promotes and supports faculty and staff performance. * Evaluates faculty performance. * Addresses issues regarding appropriate professional behavior among faculty as well as that between faculty and students.
